  • Absolute Best Pans I Have EVER Cooked With

    After my husband spent a fair amount of time trying to find teflon-free non-stick pans, I took over the search. I came across an article that mentioned these in the top 5 (there were 10 or so brands total, I think). Based on the features and company profiles, I narrowed it down to this brand and one other from the article. The other brand was significantly more expensive for a "starter set" (I didn't want to buy a 10-12 piece cookware set for several hundred dollars before I knew how good they would be!), so I went with these. I'm SO glad that I did! These pans are absolutely amazing. They work better than ANY pan I've ever used in my life, and unlike the last ceramic pans I bought, which stated that using oil and butter would reduce the nonstick properties over time, these can be used with butter/oil/other fat. I cannot wait to buy a full set of these pans in a couple of pay periods!

  • Poor design

    At first I loved these pans—non stick and easy clean up without the harmful chemicals. However, after 2 months of use, the non stick qualities have diminished greatly. I agree with another review that says the design of the pan is to blame—it is not flat and therefore the oil pools around the edges, leaving the center dry and this allowing foods to stick. Along with this, the pans seem to lose their non stick properties with use. Because of this, I would not recommend this item.

  • Very good value. Works great and heats nicely on Induction cooktop

    First, I am VERY Fussy about my pans. If a pan doesn't fit perfectly flat on my cooktop, back it goes. I use a skillet almost every night and choose these deep chef's pans because you can do so much with them. This one is about 3" deep. I have used pans by Ozari, which was a good performer but the non-stick started to come off. I then went with another brand which I had never heard of, Natural Cook professionnel. This pan came from Germany and had this new German non-stick that was supposed to be great. When I got the pan, it had a very rough texture. I was immediately put off but decided to try it. I LOVED it. It lasted about a year and a half before the non-stick started to fail. Non stick pans don't last forever, personally I thought for the heavy use it did well. I tried to replace it, but Novalife no longer sells pans in the US. So, back to the hunt. Finding a good pan that will work on induction can be a bit of a challenge. I researched endlessly and kept coming back to this pan and the reviews were good. I thought I would give it a try. It was nicely packaged. Good packaging for gift giving. Upon taking the pan out of the box, I noticed it had a good weight to it and has the helper handle. The exterior finish is a dark almost anodized look and the bottom has a slight rough texture. The interior is slick. very slick and the finish looks almost like automotive paint. Looks like it has metal flake in it. The finish appeared to be well applied and it was applied over the rivets inside the pan. I like to see that. The lid fits well, one thing I thought was odd is that it doesn't have a vent hole. That doesn't bother me, because half the time I am wanting to keep the steam in (cooking rice, frying eggs). I then sat it on the stove and it sat perfectly flat. I couldn't wait for supper time. It performed as good as it looks. One thing it beat the others, when I put the oil in the pan, it didn't all run toward the edge of the pan so the bottom inside is also flat. I prepared a stir fry which began with browning cubed pork chops. Flawless. Not a thing stuck and the cubes browned beautifully. Then finished up the stir fry and the pan basically wiped clean. Of course this is the first use, so I will come back from time to time to update on it's life because like you probably do, I rely heavily on reviews. Like I said, it's my most heavily used pan and gets used almost daily. From first impression, I say buy one. I am glad I did. It also has a small pamphlet on how to take care of it. Biggest way to damage a non-stick pan is to overheat it. They claim you can use metal utensils but there is no way. Olive wood or Bamboo is all I use and occasionally silicone.
    UPDATE: 1-15-19. New picture added. Pan is being used nearly daily and still looks like brand new. Non stick works as well as it did on day one. The picture showing the lid was when I got it, the picture without I just added. Very nice pan!

  • Only OK, especially for induction, but a good value overall

    We've used pretty much every brand of non-stick cookware, including the $100+ Swiss Diamond stuff. This falls somewhere in the middle, but is a good value given it's less expensive than the other high-end products and should last longer.
    The good:
    - Very easy to clean, the best aspect of this particular type of nonstick
    - Seems to be more durable than the other types, but I'll update this review if that doesn't pan out over the long haul.
    The bad:
    - Not very flat, so oil tends to run to the outside (using cooking spray or butter works much better).
    - Heat distribution is only OK: Takes a long time to settle rim to rim.
    - Iron plate in it is thin, leading to relatively poor performance on induction cooktops. We have to set ours a number or two higher to get this to cook the same as competing products. You can even verify this with the standard magnet test: Magnets just don't stick to these pans as well as they do competing pans.'
    - Not as slick as some competitors (which was true of the Swiss Diamond product too): You must always use some lube with it whereas some of the others you can at least cook some things (e.g., pancakes, but never eggs) without that.

  • Taking the Best Care of My Healthy Cookware

    I decided to do everything I can to make this healthy pan last.
    1) no aerosols cooking spray which becomes sticky & builds up on cookware
    2) drizzle cooking oil each use & spread or roll it around
    3) after cooking remove from heat & always allow pan to cool down
    4) do not place in sink while pan is hot
    5) hand wash with dish soap & non abrasive
    6) if too busy (on occasion) to hand wash...I’ll only put the pan on top dishwasher rack
    7) cooking temperature never above medium heat
    8) use only NON metal utensils (utensils with NO BPA)
    9) no abrasive scrubbers
    10) Always soap up all of the pan top, bottom & sides. The pan usually looks clean but spillover oil will cook on next use & stain it
