XPRT 2.0 Desert Boots combine the best features of high-performance European hiking boots with elite tactical boots. The padded neoprene ankle, durable ripstop nylon frame, and BI-FIT insole provide lightweight, sturdy comfort, and an eVent membrane makes the boots waterproof, breathable, and bloodborne pathogen-resistant. Nubuck, suede, and full-grain leather overlays present a professional profile, while a 5.11 Kick Toe delivers enhanced capability. Ghillie lacing for quick on/off. Whether you're climbing boulders, kicking in a door, or just doing everyday tactical, you'll stay comfortable and agile, day after day. Like a European hiking boot, XPRT 2.0 Desert Boots run narrower than other 5.11 boots. If you are a ''D'' or wider, ''Tactical 5.11'' suggest ordering a Wide. The durable construction of these boots means you'll also want a few days of break-in before you deploy on your next operation. Feature: elite tactical boot with hiking boot features, waterproof and bloodborne pathogen-resistant, lightweight, durable, and comfortable, padded neoprene ankle, ripstop nylon frame, 5.11 Kick Toe, full-length BI-FIT insole, PU midsole with nylon shank, eVent waterproof, breathable, BBP-resistant membrane, waterproof nubuck, suede, and Helcor leather, ghillie lacing. Material: Nylon, PU, Leather.

  • IMPORTANT- Comfortably lace and tie these boots up BEFORE you decide ...
    By 1990's 3/75 RNG on 21 December 2016

IMPORTANT- Comfortably lace and tie these boots up BEFORE you decide if they fit! I received my pair from Amazon several days ago and put them on without tightening the laces. I stood up and was immediately dismayed to find my toes rubbing against the front tip of the toe box. I was pretty ticked-off, and resolved to return them asap. Anyway, I tried them on again later that night to see if it would make any difference with the laces tightened and tied. To my amazement, I stood up and found the fit was suddenly perfect. The laces force the rear of your foot to rest along the back spine of the boots, thus providing the necessary toe room. I have not yet hiked or trained with these, but I'll post again if anything seriously negative is revealed after I do.

January 21, 2017 - Another important detail. These boots are even darker than they look in the photos. They are actually a medium to dark rust color. The only desert environment I can imagine these boots blending well with is perhaps The Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. However, for us east coast folks- These boots are a TERRIFIC color for mid-atlantic fall/winter use in both predominantly hardwood forest areas as well as deep South woods where the pine straw dominates the forest floor. I hope that is helpful to everyone. interested..

  • Comfortable Boot
    By T Allen on 22 November 2019

Yes, the boot is heavy, it is snug and a bit stiff at first. Hey, there is a lot of stuff in these boots! It has a ceramic toe, crazy padding, insulation, armor all the way around it with some kind of insane material. So, while it is heavy in the hand, it doesn't feel heavy on the foot. I can't explain it really but I don't notice the weight at all like my "D" brand mountain light hikers. The boot is snug but not tight, my feet feel supported. I wear a 10.5M in all 5.11 footwear. The Taclite boot is a little bit loose on me but with boot socks it fits fine. With the XPRT I am using Darn Tough Light Cushion OTC socks and the boots fit fine. Additionally, for whatever reason, my feet don't sweat or feel sweating in these boots. The stiffness in the boot resolves quickly and they become very comfortable. I just ordered two more pair because they've discontinued the line. That's the only thing that I don't like about 5.11 but I do fully understand the business pressures that they endure.
With all of that said, If you typically purchase a wide shoe then do the same here and you should be good. Overall size was dead on for me.

  • Great Tac boot!
By Cade on 02 April 2019

5.11 discontinued these boots and the newer version isn’t nearly as good. A bit pricey but excellent boots overall for motorcycle riding and construction work

  • Expensive / Low quality
By Santa Claus on 13 December 2017

These boots are quite expensive, however, they don't last as long a box store boots for a fraction of the price.
