  • I Might've Gotten Two Bad Batches
    By J. Sanchez on 12 August 2017

    My Experience:

The first pair I received from Amazon was defective aesthetically. There was a small scuff mark on the heel of the right boot as if someone used the left boot to pry it off instead of using their hands. The top of the right boot was deeply creased while the left boot was fine. I returned it and got a new pair which were legitimately new. They came inside a plastic bag while the first pair did not. I wore these new ones and decided to keep them.

I took the second pair of boots out for a test drive around the local mall. It was more comfortable than regular boots and didn't require heavy breaking in. However unlike regular boots, my left foot was more sore than my right. I chalked that up to the break-in period. Little by little I noticed only my left foot was sore and my right foot wasn't. Today while standing in line at the grocery store, I felt a small bump digging into that sore spot on my foot. When I got home, I asked my brother to try on the boots. He noticed nothing at first but I made him wear the boots around the house and walk around in them. He felt that bump after a while and complained about discomfort in the same spot where I had pain. Where my finger is pointing is where the pain originates from. It's in the sole or the heel itself.

    The Boots:

They're very good-looking boots. I got a lot of compliments. The shaft part of the boot is soft but can stand on its own. I wear straight leg jeans and I can tuck them in or put them over the boot easily. The insoles were good but not amazing. If you have custom insoles, you can remove them and put your own in there. As for fit, Ariat on their own website said they were true to size but I think otherwise. In my normal boot socks they felt a bit loose but doable. I like my boots snug as a bug so I used my winter boot socks and it held. If you're thinking about buying them, I recommend trying them on in the store first with whatever socks you normally wear. I personally wouldn't wear these for winter because the design is made from seams and you know how vulnerable they are to mildew. The outsole wouldn't hold on ice and probably wet ground. There's barely any tread. These seem like summer fashion boots rather than work boots or winter boots.

  • exactly what I wanted
By Steve Maring on 17 February 2019

I got these to replace a pair of Laredo McCombs that I wore four times a week for 3.5 years. I got them for riding my motorcycle on my 42 mile commute in Florida weather. I much prefer the look of cowboy boots over the typical big and bulky motorcycle boots. My first boot requirement is synthetic/rubber soles. At over 1200 lbs, with me on it, I sure as hell don't want my foot sliding on the pavement when I plant my feet down. My biggest complaint about the Laredo boots was the synthetic upper shaft. In 100 degree Florida weather that becomes an oven that makes sweat poor down and soak your socks. Having wet feet in boots is NOT fun. That is one of the main reasons I LOVE THESE BOOTS so much. The upper shaft is a BREATHABLE lightweight REAL leather. To make the leather a bit more tolerable of riding conditions I will be religiously coating these guys with Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP Leather Conditioner. I love the design on the toe, and let's face it, that is the only thing people see anyway. Having a fancy design on the upper shaft is pointless. I have wide feet and a high arch. I got the 11W in these. Am I complaining like a bunch of other reviewers that its too tight across the arch? Uhhhh ... no. That's how boots come for me and I expect it. They make these things called 'boot stretchers' for a reason. My Laredos came the exact same way. I wedged some stuff in there to try to stretch out the arch a bit, since actual boot stretchers aren't cheap, but I think just wearing them is what did the trick. After a few weeks they were amazingly comfortable. 3.5 years later and I will tell you they are the most comfortable shoe I own. I just don't want to go through another hot summer with them and the soles are wearing out. The fit of boots gets better over time and I have every reason to expect the same will happen with these.

[UPDATE after 2 weeks] This is dyed leather, not acrylic painted. Some dye will rub off during the first week or so. Also, I noticed my heal slipping up and down a bit. After 2 weeks, the instep and vamp have stretched out a bit and the heel slip issue is lessening. I believe it won't be an issue at all anymore after the boots are fully broken in. I really like the lightweight shaft. It makes for easy toe-shifting on the motorcycle. These are certainly NOT for any activity that would require good ankle support though (e.g. hiking, construction, etc). Also, the toe room is a plus in cold weather over the cockroach-kickers I had been wearing. That pocket of air helps insulate. If you want to keep the threading white then find some sort of spray protector or something. Using saddle soap will cause the dye to release and turn all the threading black. It was fine with me. The all black look works for me. I'm still sticking with 5 stars for its intended purpose and good looks.

  • I will be purchasing a second pair from this company! Very Happy!
By Tom on 22 September 2018

Thank you to those review below that shared that the boots run a little large. I wear size 14 in all boots and ordered 13. Length is no problem for my foot and after only 2 days, width was perfect! Along with a great look, these break in very fast and are very - very comfortable..

I will be purchasing a second pair from this company!

Note to all, when purchasing on line - if there are reviews - ALWAYS read them.

    Very Happy!

  • Great looking boot
By heather on 06 January 2018

My husband loves these! He’s had many many pairs of ariats over the years and is a fan. The tops are soft and not stiff (like the boots he typically wears) so he wasn’t sure he would like that, but does. He says they are comfy. They look great-like a biker/cowboy boot fusion. My husband is concerned that just due to the nature of the softer leather, the boot don’t hold up well (scratches, scuffs, etc).

  • Design is very understated and beautiful
By Craig S. Ellis on 22 February 2018

Was a little hesitant in getting these because of the design. I love the Ariat Ramblers and this was the only Rambler that came in black that I could find. The design is way more understated than you’d think. Was expecting to not like these but I actually really really like them. Fit exactly like my other Ramblers so I know that in a day or two they will be perfect.
