  • Not the advertised padding.
By Max on 04 April 2018

I bought these because they appeared to have the same gel pad that is in another pair of I bought that I really like. However, these do not have the same green gel pad advertised on the page that is in my other shorts. The pad in these doesn't feel like the same gel and is either much thinner gel or a different kind of padding all together. That being said I haven't taken them out on a ride because I intend on returning them, so I can't completely say how they perform. They still get one star from me for misrepresenting the pad that is in the shorts on the Amazon page.

  • ... wife bought a couple of pairs and seemed to like them. The first problem is sizing
By icepop on 07 February 2015

I thought I'd try Canari shorts after my wife bought a couple of pairs and seemed to like them. The first problem is sizing; the sizing isn't chart isn't accurate. I'm a 34 waist (5' 6", 175 lbs, stocky build), so I bought a large per the recommendation of the sizing chart and it's way too big for me. A medium would be a much better fit. Secondly, the chamois is only slightly better than nothing at all. I bought a pair of gel padded shorts at Performance for about the same price that have much better padding. Lastly, the spandex material itself is really thin. Again, I have other shorts in the price range that are of a heavier (and more durable) material. I'd skip these and look for something else.

  • Great shorts. Fits a bit tight on the quads. Not sure if that's just me though.
By Anthony J. Pacheco on 10 August 2016

Great shorts. Great padding. I'm 5'5" and have a size 29 waist, but have huge quads. So I tried the Medium. It fit my quads perfectly but was a bit too big everywhere else. But I kept it and still use it anyway. Even though it's a little big, it's still really comfortable. The bum pad just snags on the seat sometimes if I get back on the bike. No biggie. I then bought the small and that fit perfect everywhere except the quads. So... I use the small most of the time and deal with the elastic marks and use the medium sometimes.

  • I like them
By Steven Hageman on 21 December 2018

They say 'Gel' but really there is very little Gel in them at all. I like the pad, works in hot weather (which real Gel padding won't). Sizing is odd. I'm a 36" waist - they have a hole in their sizes for this size. I tried large 1st time, but that was baggy, so I went Medium. That is good on the waist but just a tad tight on my 'cycling' legs. Not uncomfortable, just a tad toghter than I would have designed it.

  • Waste of money
    By Wayne 1 on 15 April 2017

Minimal / low quality padding. Combine that with the fact that the pad itself is sewn too far forward equals basically useless cycling shorts. Another example of a Chinese product made taking every shortcut possible to reduce cost. The old Botranger shorts I use daily are far better.
