  • Pretty Baby Blanket
By Marjie, Mother of 9 on 19 March 2016

I bought 2 skeins of this yarn thinking it would make 2 baby blankets. It made one blanket, albeit a large blanket (40"x65"). The color sequence in the yarn is yellow-blue-pink-green-pink-blue-yellow-white. I made this blanket with 1 double crochet followed by one chain stitch, so it has an open look. Pictures are attached to show the actual color pattern of the finished blanket, as well as its size, laid out on my dining room table. 2 of these pictures were taken with a flash, and 2 with a bright light on overhead. Let me preface by saying that I can't knit, and the little bit of crocheting I know was taught to me by my mother's friend when I was about 13, so blankets and scarves are the only things I can make. That said, what I look for in yarn, especially when making something for a child, are machine washable and hypo-allergenic properties, plus softness, which generally equates to acrylic. This yarn did work into a soft blanket, which I fully intend for the mom to be comfortable putting on the floor for the baby to play on. I found one knot about 2/3 of the way through the first skein, and 2 knots in the second skein, so you should be aware that these are not continuous pieces of yarn, if that matters to your needlecraft. I probably will buy this yarn again to make a blanket for a friend's grandchild, due this summer.

  • Lovely Yarn
By LabLady on 16 October 2016

Very Soft. Texture is interesting; I would call it slightly "spongy". One skein was enough to make a small crochet baby blanket, about 20" square.. Another made a knit super scarf, about 7" by 90" plus fringe. The soft prints pattern out very pretty. Would have liked to get it in a solid color. I had to use a different brand to make a white border. I've added a photo of 3 scarves that I made. First used the Rosewood, second is Seaside and the third is the Spicy Ombre.

  • Great yarn for light weight projects. Great colors and soft
By Sophie on 14 July 2015

Arrived the next day and it was a Sunday. Still do not know how that happened. Seller is great and price was good. Yarn came in plastic wrap so it was protected. Now about the yarn... this is a very light weight yarn. I use it for Tunisian crochet since this style of crochet is very dense and projects can become heavy.
The variegation is nice. The yarn is soft but does split somewhat easily but I find using bamboo needles helps this. The yarn has a lot of "stretch" in it as opposed to other yarns that are much stiffer. I fear that it may become snagged very easily after project is finished but that is yet to be seen since I am not done. it is the right weight for Tunisian and would be great for baby blankets. I tried this with a corner to corner pattern and found the yarn to be to thin for an adult afghan. Added some pics so you can see how the variegation looks. I like working with this yarn even with the small splitting problem. If you catch your loops correctly you can avoid the splits. I do not know a better way to say that. Some of the skeins are great and have no knots and easy to find end, others are a pain in the rump and are knotted in the center and hard to find the starting thread, it is the luck of the draw. I find this true with most yarns I work with. The colors are great, it has teal, white, brown and dark blue I am afraid the photo's do not do it justice. If this yarn does not snag I will be using it again. Perfect for Tunisian Afghans. I made a bedspread for a full size bed out of the Caron one pound yarn using a pattern with DC stitch and it weighed 9 pounds when I was done and that is to heavy for people to use as an blanket.

  • Beautifu and soft! Love it!
    By S. Taipale on 28 October 2017

This is to correct a review I may have submitted earlier. I just finished a beautiful 24"x32" baby blanket and it is wonderful! The yarn did not feel very soft to me as I worked with it, but after a delicate cycle wash and into the dryer for a few minutes, this blanket is just perfect. I crocheted this using very old pattern which is fairly tight. If I had used double crochet or 1/2 double crochet it would have been less dense and larger. But I am so happy with the way it turned out after washing, that I am going to try and get some other colors of the same yarn to work with. It was easy, almost no splitting, a great yarn for beginners, too. Couldn't be happier!

  • Lovely, soft baby blanket yarn!
By dancynmoon on 16 November 2017

My mother started a baby blanket with this yarn years ago, before her Parkinson's kicked in and discouraged her from finishing it. When my niece was expecting her first child, Mom became motivated and picked up the blanket and hook again, and got to work. I found another skein of the yarn here on Amazon, in case she needed more to finish it. The original jumbo ball finished the size of the large, tightly and beautifully crocheted blanket, and she used the new skein to crochet a scalloped edging around the entire blanket. Years later the yarn colors were just a touch different so as to make a bit of a glow on the outer edge of this hard fought and gorgeous masterpiece. Baby Mirella already has the blanket, or I'd have submitted a photo. I am so proud of my mother! She is now venturing on to make a cardigan... Rock on, Mom!
