  • High percentage of defective products. Irresponsive customer service.
By Gary on 12 November 2018

I lost over 20 hours reinstalling OS and updating software. Never thought that the RAM could be defective.

They asked me to run Memtest86 and send pictures of the RAM. Memtest86 cannot even complete the test because of the vast amount of errors. They were supposed to get back to me within 2 days. I uploaded the pictures and test results 5 days ago. Still waiting to hear from them.

CORSAIR should invest in quality control and customer service, instead of fancy looking PCB's and cooling fins; like any other decent RAM manufacturer.

I will not touch a CORSAIR product ever again. No respectable brand sells untested RAM. Horrible.

Edit. I had to call them after 6 days of no response. They said they'll deal with it. Still no response after 3 days. They have a ticket system that nobody checks on. Whatever you write or post goes to a black hole. You have to call them many times to get it done. It's been 11 days since my first contact, and yet, not a single action has been taken by them.

Update after 6 months. I was finally able to have it replaced, but I had to pay for the replacement in advance. Otherwise, I'd have to wait 2-3 weeks without RAM. The only replacement they said they had was a model with LEDs. I paid over $200 for it. After 6 months, I was checking my credit card account, and noticed that they still have not refunded that $200+, even though I had sent them the defective RAM immediately. I just called them. They said they'll get back to me within 3-5 business days.

I've lost many hours dealing with this horrible company, even though It is entirely their fault. They all see it when they look at the ticket number. Nobody apologizes. Nobody cares. They just happily drag it further.

Update after 7 months. I still cannot get my refund back. I opened a BBB complaint. What a horrible company.

By Dan on 19 March 2017

After a lot of tinkering and playing guys I figured it out with some help. I could not get the memory to run at 3200, it would just default back to something lower. Posting this information here for anyone that is struggling like I was! Enjoy and hope it works for you all.

  • If you're buying DDR4 3600 C16 it's actually C18
By Shopping Cart on 30 June 2019

I'm not rating this on the part itself, but rather the misleading product listing.

    This product is listed as: CORSAIR VENGEANCELPX16GB (2X 8GB) DDR4 3600(PC4-28800) C16 1.35V Desktop Memory

    Part number is: CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18

When I received the part, I noticed the C18 on the back of the box. I checked it with Corsair's site and sure enough it is listed as 3600 C18. I thought that the wrong part was sent but it turns out that this is the right part but it's C18 and not C16.

  • This is the 2x8gb pack. Current description and pics are slightly confusing
    By Aaron M. on 22 September 2015

It's RAM, it has heat spreaders, this is a 2x8gb kit (16gb total). The description and pics could be better, so here are actual pics of what ships when you order 1. Figured the spreader height might be useful to those planning on using monstrous heat sinks with their new skylake chip.

Update 2017-Sept (2 years later) - The original kit is still working well in a system that is my daily use workstation (left on 24x7). I've since bought a half dozen more of these kits to use and have as yet run into a bad dimm. Mostly these have been put into Gigabyte Z170 & Z270 chipset boards and none have had an issue getting the advertised speed when using the XMP setting.
