  • Custom Molded My Crocs To Fix Rubbing Problems
By Joe Rains on 24 October 2016

The molding process must have gone wrong during manufacturing. Several reviews describe the "hotspots" or rubbing issues. Mine were on the inside where the lip hits between my arch and ankle. The opening is plenty large, but it's misshapen- like it was squeezed from both sides. Since I liked everything else about them, I decided to see if I could reshape the opening. A while back, a girlfriend showed me a post about getting a custom fit with some Crocs heels by "baking" them in the oven. I got them warm enough to soften the rubber and then she put them on and they molded to the shape of her foot. She said it made them amazingly comfortable, so I decided to reshape these clogs using the same process. The key is to never expose them to direct heat from the oven element or any hot surface-- which would quickly melt them. Instead, you want let INDIRECT heat soften the rubber. I heated the EMPTY oven to around 220 F and then turned it OFF and let the bottom element cool down for about 90 seconds before inserting a large cookie sheet covered with a folded bath towel and the Crocs sitting on top. I used the oven's top rack to give plenty of distance between the hot element and the cookie sheet. I had inserted some cedar shoe trees in the clogs to reshape the opening as they softened. I left them in the oven for about an hour before removing them, reheating the oven, turning it OFF and repeating the process. Inserting some wooden clothespins between cycles helped me get the shape just right. During the final cycle, I pulled them out after 10min, removed the shoe trees and clothespins, put the clogs on my feet, adjusted the velcro back strap and walked around in them for a couple hours while they cooled completely and molded to my feet. The end result was the most comfortable Crocs I've ever had! I'm docking them one star for arriving misshaped, but after the custom molding, I'm completely satisfied with them. It was easier than it sounds. I'm sure the manufacturer wouldn't endorse the idea, but as long as you keep them away from direct heat and use some common sense, there's not much chance for disaster. It's the same concept as the custom molded insoles that you heat and shape yourself-- and they can work miracles for comfort and foot pain issues. Hope this is helpful & good luck!

  • Sporty but a little bigger than expected
By Rklomarda on 25 January 2017

I usually wear a 9.5, so I ordered a 10... and it's SUPER loose on me. So I would recommend ordering one size down. I would use the straps to tighten it, but it just sticks out towards the back like an antenna if I strap it tighter.

I really like the sporty look on this one. It's like the "cool" version of regular crocs. These are really awesome for a quick run to the grocery store. I wear with or without socks. Still comfortable. It's not snuggly, but your feet feel protected with them.

What I don't like it about it is that you don't really get to enjoy the sporty look from the wearer's point-of-view. What I mean is that, from looking down at the shoes while you're wearing them, they just look like regular crocs.

  • Inconsistent sizing across product styles
By Kara Jankowski on 30 July 2017

After reading reviews about crocs and the sizing mishaps, I have to share my experiences. I read reviews, used the size chart, measured feet and former crocs, and used the sizing info from the Crocs official website. I found there is a discrepancy between "men's" sizing and "unisex" sizing of crocs, and differences in fit within styles. We chose these shoes in a Men's 8 for my son, who is wears size 7 New Balance sneakers. While we thought they looked fine on his feet, he felt they were too small due to the width mid-foot; they were much more snug than what he is used to when wearing Crocs. I wear a women's size 9, and I tried them on, and they completely fit, albeit somewhat more snug than typical Crocs, but they fit enough that I kept them for myself and a week later, I still totally love them. Very comfortable even being a tad snug. I also bought myself a new pair of unisex sized Crocs (regular style). I bought W 9/ M 7. They fit me well BUT I can't wear them with the heel strap across the back because if forces my feet forward and scrunches up my toes. Otherwise, they fit perfectly. To make the story even stranger, we went to Marshall's and found a pair of unisex Crocband Crocs for my son, same size as mine W 9/M 7, and they fit him. He could even go up in a size due to his foot's width, but they didn't have them, and for $16.99 we decided to get them anyway. I'm attaching a photo so you can see the differences. You can see the Swiftwater clog has more material over the mid-foot than the regular crocs and crocband. You can also see the middle one has a shorter heel strap. Technically, the middle and right shoes are the same size, but the one on the right is too small for me. So! My advice is either try these shoes on in a store before buying, or buy them online if they offer free returns/exchange if the size is wrong. Crocs really needs to get their sizing consistent! That being said, I really like crocs for their comfort, simplicity and ease around water.

  • NARROWER than Traditional CROCS
By KatShaRoux on 04 October 2016

My parameter responses are based on having worn traditional crocs before -- I guess it is my fault for not reading the reviews before buying. Now that I read them, I see that lots of folks indeed point out that they are not like "traditional" crocs. They run tighter in the instep -- I too got blisters on the instep. These crocs are for folks who wish that Traditional crocs were narrower. I would suggest that Crocs/Amazon indicate this in the product description, rather than in the reviews.
NOTE: the bulleted description for this shoe says "Iconic crocs comfort" -- I rarely write reviews, but that's why I wrote this one.

  • Got 2 blisters within 30 minutes of wearing-great idea for a Croc, but bad construction.
By Tad Pole on 31 March 2016

While the idea of this Croc is great, its actual application and construction do not work for people with wide feet. Within 30 minutes of wearing, i got 2 blisters on each inside arch- making them impossible to wear without socks, which in my opinion defeats the purpose of a "swift-water" shoe. The adjustable backstrap is nice, but unless these things break in and widen up, i will be returning.
