The SensorScope DSLR Camera Sensor Inspection Device is a specialized tool that allows you to thoroughly inspect your digital SLR with the most precise eye. Although avoiding the need to clean your image sensor altogether would be ideal, excessive environmental exposure will eventually result in discoloration & streaking in your photos. Built to resemble and fit perfectly on top of any standard SLR lens, the portable SensorScope Inspection unit is equipped with 5x magnification and 4 ultra bright LEDs to illuminate the surface of your image sensor and expose even the most minuscule particles. With the quick switch of a button, the SensorScope magnification unit optimizes user visibility so that you can proceed with caution in cleaning of your camera. If it isn't dirty, simply don't clean it!

CR2025 batteries as well as a convenient two-compartment separable travel bag for easy mobility of your SensorScope & other cleaning supplies are included in this ready to use kit.

  • Very good inspection tool - must have if you really want to see your sensor condition.
By Michael Farber on 20 July 2013

Here is the only bad thing about this product. Actually, it had nothing to do with its quality. Mine SensorScope came with dead batteries. I've got no lights when I clicked the switch. After calling the manufacture, I was promised to receive a new set of batteries. I had to buy a set of watch type batteries myself. The promised batteries have never come. So I spent another few dollars (around $6 for 2025 type round flat 2 of 3V each). But it works wonders when you need to inspect your sensor as you can clearly see all the dust particles on the surface before and after cleaning so you don't have to put your lens back, go and shoot some blue sky or white sheet of paper, download your images to your computer and using image software to check if you still have some left there. It helped me to see some streaks on the sensor surface that were left after dry cleaning with special brush called SensorSweep. Do not use this type of cleaning! The only effective sensor cleaning is a wet method using commercial SensorSwipe and Eclips cleaning fluid. I bought all of them from Copper Hill Images. So to save yourself from the chores of stopping cleaning, going to shoot blue sky or white paper, bringing images to your computer and checking for more dust, I would strongly recommend to get this Sensor Scope and it's actually a high quality unit (only if batteries are not dead).

  • Usefule, if you need to clean your sensor.
    By Brad M. on 11 August 2015

This loupe seem useful. The optics are fairly good. There is little chromatic aberration, which makes details good. (I suspect there is some barrel distortion, but that doesn't matter for this application). Also the loupe has great eye relief (that is, you don't need to hole the loop directly up to your eye to see the image, you can back off quite a bit.)

  • Works very well
    By D. Vaughan on 10 May 2011

Received my Delkin Devices DDSS-Single2 SensorScope today, and it was exactly what I needed to help clean my sensor. This was the first time I'd cleaned the sensor and the scope really let me see where the dust was. I had to do a wet cleaning, took a couple of tries to get it right. This is an excellent scope for the price, a tad bit plasticy but a lot less expensive than the slightly higher end ones, and the 5x zoom is more than enough to see the dust.

  • Yes, Difficult to use, you have to focus your eye, but once you learn how to use it - its awesome
By Ryan Leafgreen on 13 May 2013

Ok, at first I didn't like this. I looked through it and was like are you kidding 50 bucks for this. I figured out that if I spent a little more time looking in it, I could focus my eye and see the small specks of dust, saving me lots of time. This thing will def pay for itself over time as I wet clean my own sensors now. Great device.
