  • Well?
By Inspector Nash Bridges on 11 January 2017

Most of us wear a hard hat because we are required to. Whatever they say we have to wear at work, is what we put on our heads. Nobody ever really gives a second thought to what that hat does, or will do.

If you have to pay for your own Personal Protective Equipment, this hat is one of the least expensive when buying one hat at a time. When a large company orders 50 or 100 hats, the price per unit is less than half of this one. But you should consider ordering more than one. Hats can break. Drop it. Drop something on it. For whatever reason, you lose misplace it. You have to have this to make a living. How would you like to miss out on a day's pay, because something happened to your hat?

This model of hat gives you many color options. Most girls, and some guys, want to project their femininity by wearing pink. For some people, there may be personal reasons for choosing a different color; whether it's to telegraph their gang affiliation, or simply to be an individual. Perhaps you want the only purple hard hat on the jobsite, so that you'll know it's yours when you set it down. The fluorescent colors could be enhanced with reflective tape. The glow in the dark option is great for working at night; especially if you need to be seen on dark roads or in the event of a power outage.

Chin straps can be added. There should be enough space between your helmet, and the liner, for air circulation and airflow. No vent holes means that you can comfortably wear hat in the rain without water coming through the vent holes. Cap with visor style makes it easier to pull a hood on over your cap. Some garments have hoods specifically designed to go over your helmet. I prefer to pull my hood on over my head, then wear the cap on top with my hood acting as a cap liner. Something to think about if you have to work outdoors and this hat is what keeps you dry. Cap style with visor is also less bulky than a full brim pith helmet style.

i purchased the fluorescent yellow & fluorescent lime. Yes, you can tell it's a different color when you hold them next to each other. However, either one, actually both, match the yellowish green safety colors of your high visibility work clothes. Perfect if your job requires you to be outdoors during a storm, flood, et cetera. I fabricated a chinstrap out of . Velcro straps will fit nicely onto the headliner suspension system. Add a and you're in business.

Know what the safety ratings are, and what they mean. Some helmets protect better than others. The right helmet could save your life.

Hard hat impact protection is divided into two categories: Type I and Type II.

Type I Hard Hats are intended to reduce the force of impact resulting from a blow only to the top of the head. This form of impact, for example, may result from a hammer or nail gun falling from above.

According to ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 and Canadian CSA Z94.1-2005 standards, hard hat electrical performance is divided into three categories: Class E, Electrical; Class G, General, and; Class C, Conductive.

Class E (Electrical) Hard Hats are designed to reduce exposure to high voltage conductors, and offer dielectric protection up to 20,000 volts (phase to ground). This amount of voltage protection, however, is designated to the head only, and is not an indication of voltage protection allocated to the user as a whole.

Class G (General) Hard Hats are designed to reduce exposure to low voltage conductors, and offer dielectric protection up to 2,200 volts (phase to ground). As is the case with Class E hard hats, this amount of voltage protection is designated to the head only, and does not account for voltage protection allocated to the user as a whole.

Class C (Conductive) Hard Hats differ from their counterparts in that they are not intended to provide protection against contact with electrical conductors.

  • Great for the Nine-Year Old!
By Schlep on 20 October 2016

I actually got this for my kid so I can take her to the fluorescent mine in New Jersey. I was a bit unsure how this would fit on a nine-year old but it adjusted well for her. Her head circumference is 20 inches, by the way. I was a bit weary at first but took a chance this would fit her and there are one or two smaller settings to go yet. Finding a quality hard hat for a kid that is not a toy is not the easiest thing. And it is not only a girly pink but also made here in the US. Overall, this thing was just fine for her and thankfully she did not get whacked in the head to test out the hardness.

  • Great color safety hat
By Sean D. Turner on 07 September 2018

I can't comment on the safety aspects of this hat as I bought this as a silly gift for my girlfriend to use while working on our new house. In terms of looks it is perfect and the pink is really bright.

Absolutely perfect. Arrived very quickly. The transaction couldn’t have been smoother and the hard hat couldn’t have been any better. 5 stars.

  • Light, sturdy, comfortable
By Emilio Pastrana on 06 May 2013

As soon as you get this hat in your hands, you can start noticing that is built with the best materials and the best design. a lot of my co-workers asked me where I bought it, so looks that it is attractive too. I've been using it for over a week and after some incidents with stainless steel parts of the production machines I work with, I can tell that this hat really protects. Not a single incident with it. I recommend it.
