  • Nice but there are some caveats...
By HeLux on 03 January 2017

I really like the planner and will be keeping it, but I want to let buyers know there may be a difference in quality between these and what you receive when you purchase directly from Erin Condren. Namely, the quality of the coil. The coil with the planner I received had a rougher texture than my last Erin Condren that I purchased directly from EC. This means the pages don't turn as smoothly and get sort of "hung up" on the coil. It really, really bothered me, as one of the things I like about the EC planners is their coil. To fix this, I uncoiled the 2017 planner and my 2016 planner and put the 2016 coil onto the new 2017 planner.

Note: The poor coil quality could have been a one-off from production, but I thought I should make potential buyers aware of the issue.

Otherwise, I love the cover - the watercolor is so pretty!

Other things to note when comparing this planner to the planners you buy from the EC direct:
This planner does not come with a vellum page inside the cover, nor does it come with the EC ruler/page marker, or plastic envelope.
It *does* come with the sticker sheets, which are the same in number and quality.

  • Nice page layout, but I didn't like the paper/binding. .
By narrowback slacker on 30 December 2016

I'm a complete planner geek, and after years with the MomAgenda I thought I would check this one out. The page layout offered what I really wanted (8 columns a week, one for each day plus a column for notes/reminder). But otherwise, I was very disappointed:

The paper quality was not particularly good--flat white, and the printing on the opposite side shows through a bit, so I imagine that ink would, too.

I also missed having some guidelines for writing in the spaces--they are entirely blank.

I was not crazy about the overall organization, either: I prefer continuous week, but this has the monthly calendars plopped in between (with tabs). The cover was pretty enough, but it the shiny laminated plastic felt cheap. These are largely personal preferences, though.

The real dealbreaker for me, however, was the binding. The spiral is HUGE, around two inches in diameter, far larger than the thickness of the book. It looks out of proportion and gets in the way of your arm when you're writing. This is not something you can really glean from the Amazon description, so I've added a photo. More troubling still was the fact that it's a standard coil spiral--the wire runs in one continuous loop, making it much more difficult to turn pages than it is with a quality comb binding (as is used on most other planners I've used, including the MomAgenda and the ActionDay planner). I'm super fussy about my planner, since I interface with it all day long, all year long. I'm returning it.

  • Invaluable for the Busy and Organized
By Tracy Royer on 22 January 2017

This is my second non-personalized Erin Condren lifeplanner. I bought the 2016 version at Staples and it was invaluable for organizing my personal, professional, and wedding planning lives. This year I am not planning a wedding and I still refer to my lifeplanner constantly. The vertical layouts with customizable titles are perfect for me; I label them "reminders", "to do", and "work." This planner features a large coated metal spiral (allowing the planner to lay flat), thick, high quality paper, and laminated, double-sided tabs. I like the extra touches like long-term goal planning, a note page each month, and "thankful thought" for each week--it keeps me both forward thinking and grounded.
There are a few differences between the 2016 and this 2017 version.
Cons: the plastic zippered pouch is no longer there, the folder is single card stock instead of doubled
Pros: the interchangeable covers now have a "whiteboard" on the inside (lined in front, unlined in back)
Neutral: different decorative and color schemes

I was able to successfully snip out the plastic zippered pouch from my 2016 and add it to my 2017--having said that, I use it very rarely and am not sure it is necessary. I recommend the Erin Condren Elastic Bands (but hairbands probably work too), the Staedtler triplus fineliner pens, planner stamps (I like Technique Tuesday), and a small magnetic bookmark.

Who should buy this? Visual people who use paper calendars, lists, and post-its heavily.

  • I couldn't ask for a better tool to keep all of my appointments
By Christal Sheets on 25 November 2016

I would be lost without this! I have to write things down in a planner and Erin Condren makes organization so much simpler. I couldn't ask for a better tool to keep all of my appointments, goals, meetings, etc neatly organized and in one place.

  • Perfect Planner - High Quality!
By North Shore Mom on 10 February 2017

This is a gorgeous planner! I love, love, LOVE Erin Condren's product. This one is no exception! I have always purchased her products from her website directly so I'm familiar with the quality. This was my first time ordering on Amazon and I was a little concerned if there were quality differences. I am pleased to say that this was simply perfect right out of the box! Included you get some fun stickers you can play with too. I'm sold - this planner is amazing!
