  • They wore beautifully and I reluctantly have to replace them
By Tyler on 15 December 2016

I am writing this out of pure frustration because I have bought these shoes for over a decade, my last pair lasting 3yrs before it was time to get another set. They wore beautifully and I reluctantly have to replace them. I have bought, and returned, 4 pairs of these shoes because of poor quality. The 1st 2 orders had the foot bed misaligned, the second pair the black leather around the rim of the show wore off (exposing white underneath) in less than 30 days and this last pair came to me damaged out of the box. It's extremely frustrating to order what was once considered to be an excellent shoe manufacturer turn out such poor quality for the price. In my world, more than $100 should constitute a decent pair of shoes, but thus far Florsheim is not paying attention to quality. I am honestly really bothered by what used to be a fantastic shoe is now something they should charge $30 dollars for.

  • Correct size but uncomfortable
    By C. Wallace on 06 June 2018

All I know is my poor husband is still wearing bandages on his feet even after two months. Thats not right. Im not sure what the deal is as he's been wearing this style & brand for years BUT its the first time he's bought them online so I'm wondering if they are not as high quality as the one's at the department store? Is there something there not telling us? Mmmmmm

  • Great Classic Shoes
By David on 01 February 2019

I have been wearing Florsheim Lexington Wingtip for about 10 years (and I get two years out of them). The black are a classic design that I can wear from anything from a Tuxedo to slacks with a polo. Plus, the wingtip design requires less shining (because I am lazy). At this price point, they are a great value for a high quality shoe. There has been some historical minor variation in the quality. My previous pair did have the heal fall off, but I glued it back on without issue. But my most recent pair had a stronger heal secured by nails. The body is the same, but the laces are upgraded. I am so pleased. I typically wear a 10M, but I should have probably ordered a 9.5M because I think that they run a bit large.

  • I can SEE MYSELF in the finish!!
    By C. Ciummo on 25 September 2015

Not entirely what I was expecting. It's been a few years since I had Florsheim shoes and wanted black wingtips before starting a new job in a few days. The Florsheim I remember was better quality. They almost look like patent leather they're so shiny... Almost. I guess that could be OK as it seems like less polishing will be needed. They were a bit snug when I put them on the first time an hour ago... Need to break them in by Monday... But already have softened up and feeling pretty damn comfy. At least the fit is like old Floresheim. We will see about the rest.

5 months later ... These have met all, expectations and bumping it up to 5 stars. I wear the hell out of them.. They're glove soft on the inside.. Now looking for a brown pair.

  • Not your father's Florsheims, but not terrible
By Insertnamehere on 02 March 2014

I've been buying Florsheims since I started work out of college almost 20 years ago. I have definitely noticed their quality declining: leather seems to be becoming lower quality, heel construction looks to include some sort of plastic material, and the soles don't last as long. But, for $100 they look and feel just fine. Really good shoes are really expensive, so you have two choices: spend a ton of money on good shoes, take really good care of them, and hope they last a decade... or, spend a little money on less expensive shoes and replace them every few years. I prefer the latter.

Again, for the money, these are just fine. Two items I would point out though, is that first, the soles are convex. Meaning when the shoe sits on the ground it does not sit flat, it rocks considerably from front to back. I can't really tell yet if I do or do not like this. They do feel different to walk in, though, that takes a little getting used to. Also, I bought the Burgundy color hoping it would be more of a cordovan/reddish color, but they are quite dark, almost maroon/purple. I would have preferred them to be lighter, but they're not bad.
