    Florsheim is a name that has been around for years and was synonymous with affordable quality. That has apparently changed. Leather? Perhaps some parts are leather, but the brown color was a coating and this belt literally started peeling within a few minutes of being worn. The brown coating peeled/lifted and you could see the black undercoating. Other reviewers mentioned concern for the sizing. Ours was accurate - true to size.

    I got this belt because I love my Florsheim steeltoe Oxfords; unfortunately, it is a definite peeler. The material underneath is a mid-tone gunmetal grey (which is to say, slightly blue-ish in color, otherwise about a 66% grey) - so it's very obvious!

    I'll be honest, I'm still wearing this belt daily (because I'm cheap), and it still works great as a belt, just looks really, really cheap.

  • I've been happy with other Florsheim products (shoes) but this belt is ...

    In less than a week the finish wore off of this belt in the front face of the belt. I've been happy with other Florsheim products (shoes) but this belt is a disappointment. These things don't last forever but I would expect this kind of wear over at least a few months use.

    You get what you pay for but this and other brand name belts have been a waste of money. Do I really need to pay 80 to 100 dollars just to get a good belt? Yikes....

  • Good quality casual-wear belt

    This is, as the description says, a "smooth leather belt"-- and apparently a good quality one. It is significantly heavier than I expected, and is probably more appropriate for casual wear than with dress slacks for that reason. [Flimsy it is not!]

    Gave this as a gift to my SIL, he really like it. The leather was smooth, the stitching straight and even, and the belt holes were evenly placed. This was a great price. I gave him a very expensive belt 2 years ago, was not going to spend that much again. Great gift item, well rec'v.
