  • they are very comfortable. The melding of the footbed to the sole ...
By Julie on 27 January 2018

I got these on Monday and immediately took them on a 2-mile walk with my dog because I had so been looking forward to them. However, on the way home from our walk I could tell that my left pinky-toe was getting shredded (for whatever reason, my right pinky toe was only slightly constricted and was fine). By the time I got homeI had a blister, and my over zealous first-wearing had dirtied them too much for a return. Since they are leather, and I didn't want to call the whole thing a loss, I decided to see i they would break-in. Someone here has suggested that because the sole is made of rubber, the narrowness wouldn't break-in/out of them. That has proven not to be the case for me. I have worn them everyday with a pinky-toe band-aid and thick socks and after 5 days of this they have broken in enough that I can wear them with regular socks, without a band-aid, and have no rubbing. In fact, they are very comfortable. The melding of the footbed to the sole of your foot creates more room for your toes and very comfortable arch support, which at first had seemed lacking, They are still about 1/4 inch longer than I would like, but the narrowness has correct itself ( for my normal/medium foot) and I am very pleased with them now. It only took them about 5-days to customize to my foot, and now I feel that with the soft, leather inner-soles, I could wear them without socks and get no blisters. I am so glad I gave them a few days to break in before giving up.

  • The fit is great.
By hermies mom on 08 June 2018

Really a nifty pair of sneakers. Comfy and just different from what I grew up wearing. I am a 69 yr. old woman and have decided to go with some of the new-fangled items, but not trying to look 21 again. Highly recommend for a nice classy pair of shoes.

  • Terrible Quality
By Amazon Customer on 13 August 2018

I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of the sneakers I received. They don't smell/feel or have any characteristics of nubuck at all. They're just like a cheap pair of Chinese sneakers you can buy for $20 bucks. The material they're made of doesn't absorb water or change its color if you make it wet. Returning these and won't be buying anything like that from Amazon anymore.

  • Long and narrow
By superdogmom on 28 July 2017

I had never tried Frye shoes before but I'm impressed with the quality. These are beautifully made with soft leather interiors. They're cut nicely low beneath the ankle bone so there's no rubbing, a problem with many sneakers. Unfortunately for me, this style runs long and narrow. The narrow part was OK because my foot is between a narrow and medium, but the length was about an inch too long. When you already wear an 11, that's a whole lot of shoe sticking out. A 10 is always too short so this becomes still another example of needing a 10.5 which no one chooses to make. Sadly, had to return.

  • Tight Fit, Too Long
By Adie on 11 April 2019

I am usually a size 8 but returned these because they were too large. They were pretty narrow and I expect the 7.5 to be much too narrow so I didn't even try. They were too expensive to not fit well for me. I ended up returning and exchanging for the Maya in 7.5 and those were less expensive and fit better. Total around $59 instead of $200.
