  • The Pencil Sharpener gets more use out of the pencils!
    By renamarie54 on 19 February 2016

I am a New Foster Grandparent (FG). I go into a school and help teachers with children with challenges with there schoolwork. It's not unusual for a FG to spend their own money for incentives and motivation awards. I am low income and yes the price of so many pencils were attractive. I thought I could occasionally pass out these pencils to the other kids in the class. School budgets in the schools are horrible and even a GOOD pencil is a luxury. My boys earned their 1st pencils for working on their printing. I came back a few days later, these pencils became stubs because the lead broke so often and it took forever for a standard electric pencil sharpener to a sharp point (I watched the teacher sharpen a new one, took a third of the pencil). Then the paper around the pencil came off. Yes, you get what you pay for but I was giving them to children for a reward. They were advertised as reward pencils. Not much of an award if it last 2 days in classroom. Might as well buy candy!

  • Did not receive correct quantity
By TML on 29 July 2018

Pencils are neat looking, but have not used any as they are for students to receive to welcome them back to school on the first day. One major problem though is the package was to contain 144 and I took the time to count as there was a small split in the bottom of the packaging, not the mailing bag, only the packaging. There were only 121 pencils and there was supposed to be 144 pencils in this pack. I was counting on 144 pencils to give to students. The label on the package states 144pcs.

  • Great reward!
By Amazon Customer on 04 January 2018

I reward students with pencils when I notice them doing something good.

Kids ALWAYS need pencils (no, really- do they eat them?) and I love that the positive messages can help cheer them on while using them.

I feel that a tangible item of recognition will help bolster self esteem

  • Buyer Beware!
By Amazon Customer on 04 January 2019

These are indeed colorful and cheap. Let me save you from the mistake of buying these:
    1) These pencils are wrapped in PLASTIC. The graphics on the pencils are a plastic sheath, that not only gunks up your sharpener, but creates LOTS of tiny plastic shavings, that I can’t help but feel will just wind up in the ocean.😞 Unnecessary.
    2) The lead/graphite is very low grade and fractured inside the pencils. When you sharpen them, the tip comes right off, forcing you to sharpen it again ... And so on and so on.
I own an art studio and thought my students would like a more colorful pencil to draw with. As soon as I unboxed these and noticed the above 2 items, I KNEW I was in trouble! I’ve been waiting to use these all up, so I could order some better quality pencils and move on from this Amaztake. Hoping I can spare you from the same experience.

  • YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
    By Grammy M. on 29 January 2014

AS A TEACHER AND PENCIL FANATIC, I WAS OVERJOYED TO FIND A GROSS OF PENCILS FOR SUCH A GREAT PRICE. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR APPLIES TO THESE PENCILS. THEY ARE A LITTLE SMALLER IN DIAMATER THAN THE AVERAGE ROUND PENCIL. THE OUTERCOVERING IS PLASTIC AND PEELS OFF IN GLOBS IN THE SHARPENER AND LEAVES SHREDS ON THE PENCILS. THE WOOD SHARPENS ROUGHLY. THE LEAD IS OK, BUT IN A FEW OF THE PENCILS IT WANTS TO BREAK AS YOU SHARPEN IT. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I WILL RETURN TO MY ORIGINAL VENDOR. THE EXTRA COST IS WORTH A BETTER MORE RELIABLE PRODUCT. THE COMPANY IS "FOR TEACHER'S ONLY" .
