  • Great feel and fit, but there are issues
By Brad Morris on 28 May 2019

At first glance I was very pleased with these cargo pants. I've noted a few pros and cons:

    - Soft comfortable fabric
    - Hidden elastic waist
    - Not overly baggy like many cargo pants
    - Price

    - QA/QC not present (more on that below)
    - Wrinklefest (look at other reviewer photos)

Overall I really like the feel of these pants. Even though I only gave three stars, I would still buy them again because of the price and fit. In the past two weeks I've literally purchased over $400 in cargo pants to try out. I've purchased from all the big names, 5.11, LAPG, Carhartt, ReFire, Tru-Spec, Wrangler, Dickies and Columbia. These Haggar cargos are the most comfortable and best fitting.

I'm a 38W/32L, so not overly disproportional. I spent many years as a 36W/32L, so part of the issue might be the larger waste. One thing that I've noticed is that most of the cargo pants I tried have very baggy legs and crotch areas. They look and fit terribly. As a retired Marine, I'm familiar with what utility trousers should look and feel like. I also work in an office now, so I'd like to be able to wear them in semi-professional environment.

Now for the not-so-good. The first pair I received from Amazon was missing the front button. Other than trying them on to make sure the fit was correct, I did no further testing of that pair. The replacements came and it appears that after washing on on first wear, I'm missing a few stitches in the inseam. Luckily my wife is quick with a sewing machine, so I'm sure she'll be able to fix them before they unravel and split the seam. Still, this is pretty poor quality control. Also noted after first wash, they're wrinkle-magnets. Holy crud these things wrinkle easily. I pulled them directly out of the dryer and put them on a hanger and they're still quite wrinkled. If you don't mind ironing your trousers after each wash, these are probably fine for you.

Again, Even though I only gave them three stars, I would still buy them again. The price and comfort are working for me.

  • What you see is what you get
By Armac on 28 October 2017

I should subtract one star but I won't. The rear pockets have NO closure, button, velcro, or otherwise. Two questions were asked about rear pocket closure and the reply in both cases was button. Nope. But the fault is mine. I should have looked closely at the rear view photo. Other than that, they're well made, comfortable, and they fit as expected. Overall, a good buy.

  • Excellent
By gnsjr on 30 August 2019

I've been looking for the right cargo pant for a while. I have one of those oversize iPhones and hate having to wear a belt holster for it. It looks stupid, bulging under an untucked shirt. Have wanted a good cargo pant to put the phone in and these fit the bill. They look and fit well enough to wear to the office (who tucks a dress shirt into cargo pants? Me...did it yesterday!). I also wanted decent depth pockets, as I stand a lot and put my hands in my pockets. That posture needed to be comfortable. Lastly, the expandable waist was a must. Your waist is not the same size when you sit, as it was when you stand. An adjustable belt is great, but not if your pants don't adjust as well. In short. Perfect! Wore these 3 times to make sure they washed well, then ordered all the other colors, too.

  • Comfy, soft, shrunk a bit but it’s okay because I’m loosing weight.
    By Timbo M. on 14 April 2018

Stretch waist is good, because I’m loosing weight. It’s a bit smaller than my other pants in the same size, and it shrunk a bit more when I washed it. After they dried, they now have a bit of a wrinkled appearance, despite taking them out as soon as the dryer stopped.

It’s got a slick cell phone pocket behind the right cargo pocket, and fits my iPhone 6s with case perfect, but I’ll probably never use it because I always keep the phone in the left pocket, habits are hard to break

  • Great for the Traveller
    By kcallahan47 on 11 March 2018

Love these pants for travelling. Not too heavy in warmer weather, but warm enough for a cool air flight. The open pocket in the right side is perfect for a smartphone. They do wrinkle some and may need to be ironed periodically. I wash/dry mine with other lighter clothing and they come out good enough to wear, unless you are going out on the town. But, that's just me.
