  • and warp easily when cleaned with hot water
By intothewild on 29 October 2016

If you are looking for countertop eye candy, and don't actually cook, stop now and buy this set. I'd get the stainless steel version for that. The grey and silver are actually plastic housings, which I did not notice in description, and thought they were metal too...nope.

If you are looking for real cooking tools, avoid these; they need some work before being ready for prime time. Here are the issues:

1.) The large set is still too small.
2.) The boards are too thin, and warp easily when cleaned with hot water.
3.) All of the boards need a slight texture to them. have fun keeping carrots or cucumbers steady. They will fling out even with experienced chefs; very dangerous and should be avoided for that alone.
4.) The type of plastic is all wrong compared to other "good" plastic cutting boards i've owned.
5.) The "Taylored" functionality of each board is terrible. The long groves on the cooked food board just make the cutting board wear out quicker, and makes it awkward to cut anything on because you can't get a clean cut at the bottom. The fish "grip" bumps don't make sense either. Every board just needs the same sort of "sandpaper" texture that my other plastic boards have, and that's it. Works for everything.

I can tell these were designed by people who don't actually cook, or were pressured to reinvent the wheel with a two week time frame.

Almost the perfect set. Aesthetic is on point, just make the boards bigger, thicker, out of the same material others use, and simplify the texturing and add to every board

  • Looks Nice on the Counter But...
By Decor Gal on 11 November 2016

I bought the set mainly for the storage becuase our other cutting boards are in a stack with the cookie sheets and getting things out was a bit of a hassle. The cutting boards look nice sitting on the counter top and I like the color of the gray holder. However, the 2 cutting boards we have used so far are significantly marred after using 6 times. You will want to put them in the holder to keep out of sight. There are 4 boards in the set. I have attached some photos for you to see (the veggie board was in the dishwasher when I took the photos). They go through the dishwasher just fine. Bottom line is that if you need to keep your boards on the counter, then this is a good set for hiding the actual boards. Otherwise, you might want to spend your $ on another product that is more resistant to knife damage.

  • Very delicate material for a cutting board
By Sue on 06 January 2015

I have mixed feelings about this. It's a lovely design, and the concept of different boards to avoid cross-contamination is great. I had a previous, larger set, liked it until it got really cut up -- from being used as a cutting board! I got a second, and this one seems even more delicate.

Perhaps it doesn't matter that the vegetable board is really sliced up in a couple months of use, but it looks terrible. And I do worry that it may be retaining bacteria. I'd love to find this kind of set in bamboo.

  • Great idea! Needs quality improvement.
By Anon on 07 July 2015

I really like how the boards are labeled.
I read a few articles online about food safety. They said it's a good idea to use raw meats on the same cutting board separate from other foods.
This makes it easy for me and my boyfriend to know which board is for raw meat.
The case is sturdy and so are the boards.
There are rubber nubbies on the bottom corners of the boards so they wont slip around on the counter top.
Overall everything is done well like this brand usually is but.........
I loooove Joseph Joseph products but I am a little disappointed with the cutting area on these.
I just noticed that the boards have slivers of loose plastic peeling off where I use them the most.
I am worried about these coming off in my food.
I paid good money for these boards expecting them to last.
I have had other plastic cutting boards on which I spent a fraction of the cost that did not have this issue.
I believe aesthetics is important but quality is more so. The plastic on these needs to be upgraded.

  • Do not by these... Not as described
By Allen Moredock on 21 March 2018

Special Features do NOT EXIST...Meat board does NOT have "Juice-catching groove", Vegetable board does NOT have "sloping rim for catching liquids", Fish board does NOT have "integrated fish-grip", Cooked food board: does NOT have "crumb-catching grooves". They are essentially identical boards in four different colors.
