  • Major Design Issues
By Datajockeys on 15 May 2018

I am a Keen fan of over 15 years. During that time, only two of their shoe styles have outright failed. This is the 2nd one. There are two issues that make this shoe downright unusable. The first is that the throat is too small to get your foot through. The footbed is the correct size (after stuboranly cramming my foot in). The 2nd issue is the tongue is sueded on both sides. Good luck getting your sock-covered foot into this shoe without the tongue coming along for the ride. The combination of the two design flaws make this shoe unusable, in my case.

Save yourself the aggravation and get the Keen Austin.

  • Nice shoe, but little tolerance for imperfect feet.
By Erick Oros on 09 May 2018

Nice shoe, unfortunately not compatible with my feet. The quality meets usual Keen standards, and the design is very nice, but I had problem just trying to get them on. I've purchased many keen shoes in the past, as it's my go-to brand, but these shoes have a very narrow tolerance for my wide feet, and my somehow high bridge. They were tight in all the wrong places.

  • Poorly assembled and painful.
By Todd Van Horne on 19 October 2018

I bought these Keens for a three-month trip to Europe, knowing that I'd be walking a lot every day. The last pair of Keens, a different model, were the most comfortable pair of shoes I'd ever owned. These are not. The raw leather material is sewn together and assembled in such a way that the inside of the tongue jams into the top of your foot in a most painful way. Something I figured would go away with time and breaking in but has not. They're also extraordinarily wide for a non-"D" shoe. But the interior assembly points are the main problem.

  • Full leather and comfortable.
By Nick on 18 June 2018

Great all leather shoes. They took a few days to break in, but now they are very comfortable. My only complaint is the tread picks up pebbles like a magnet picks up paper clips. Shoes are still good and I will probably purchase another pair when the time comes.

  • the picture is so bad. I'm not that deft that I only trusted ...
By gplain on 03 June 2018

I've had a lot of Keen's over the years as well as my family having worn them. I didn't have any problems whatsoever with fit, however, the Sage/Lama color combo is absolutely horrendous. OMG, the picture is so bad. I'm not that deft that I only trusted Amazon but researched the Keen website as well. In the end, that color combo for me was crap. I hated it.
