Main Features:
  • We've carefully selected leather uppers designed to last. Then again, if you're wearing your KEENs daily, they won't always be scuff and dirt-free. To treat day to day wear and tear, especially on lighter color leathers, we recommend using a leather cleaner and conditioner, found at most footwear dealers and/or shoe repair shops.

  • Keen where have you gone!?
By Raccoon Man on 11 October 2016

Oh Keen where have you gone?!

I have been purchasing Keen's for years, this purchase is my 4th pair. And not because they are built poorly but because I wear them 40 to 50 hours a week walking on concrete. But something has happened to my beloved Keen, I think we can call it Globalization. When it came time to order my new pair I simply hit reorder on my previous order. Imagine my surprise when they arrived and I could not even get them on. I wear a size 13 and they were literally about a half inch shorter and super narrow. I held them up to my old shoes sole to sole and the toe did not even come close. So disappointed.

Did some research and found that most Keens are now made in China, only a few are made back in Oregon. This may also explain why on a previous order the shoe lace loop broke the fist time I put them on, at least those pair were the proper size, but that was over 2 years ago.

So I went ahead and returned them and ordered a size 14. They came today and they do fit, but they are extremely narrow. The whole point of the wide toe is to give a comfy fit, but these are so narrow that I am not sure I want to chance keeping them and having them not stretch out.

I have heard horror stories about the sole being cut rate now as well, though that does not appear to be the case with these. Although they have changed the inner design of the shoe, arch support is still good but again much to narrow for a shoe that used to pride itself on its comfort.

Amazon as usual was fantastic, but they do not appear to differentiate made in USA and made in China. REI will tell you which shoes from Keen are still made in the USA and which are not, plus they have a one year return no questions asked policy. So if you are afraid, like I am, that you may wear your shoes for a month or two to have them disintegrate you may want to check REI out. At least you can buy ones made in the USA.

It's sad but I may have to say goodbye to Keen.

  • I'm very sad to leave such a poor review
    By S Adams. on 28 September 2016

I'm very sad to leave such a poor review. I owned a pair of these before these ones for 14 months with every day usage. So much so that the soles wore in on my big toes. My feet are wider than a average person and Keens have been the only shoe that has been truly comfortable. These shoes have great for arch support as well. I've owned this pair for 3 months with every day usage and part of the treads are separating from the bottom of the shoe. Something that really shouldn't be happening on a $100 shoe. I'm probably just going to super glue it back on. Maybe I got a lemon?

  • Very disappointed
By Amazon Customer on 19 January 2017

I am sad to say. I am extremely disappointed in this product. I purchased these with high hopes as I was recovering from back surgery and they were recommended. Bought them in August. By mid October the shoes were literally falling apart. The bottom and sides were literally peeling apart. I had to stop using them in November. You can clearly see that there is minimal wear on them and they are falling apart. I will contact the company regarding this. I have never seen this before and I feel like my money was taken from me and a subpar product was received. If I wanted shoes like this, I'm sure I could have found some from Walmart for $30. Buyer beware!

  • Falling apart when I needed them the most
    By M&M on 06 December 2018

Bought this pair in July, no complaint about size, fit, color, and style. I wore them everyday for a month to break in, then put them aside. Brought them to Nepal for my Annapurna Base Camp trek in October. This trek is relatively easy, no climbing, no extreme terrain, dry weather, and yet, the sole became unglued from both sides, both shoes on the first day of an 11 day hike. Luckily I also brought with me some plastic glue and glued it back whenever they came apart. This meant I had to walk gingerly, limping on some sections for 8 hr a day, terrified that they would fall apart. Note that I was walk days away from civilization, without any way to replace or properly repair them. The pair had to be re-glued every night. Had it not for my cheap flip flop, I'd have to walk bare foot on the last day back to town. Keen need better quality control. Sad and angry.

  • Plantar Fasciitis Sufferers--Get these shoes!!!!!
By Craig in WV on 02 January 2017

I wear a 11.5 and heard these run small, so I went up to a size 12. The size 12 fits perfectly and glad I went up half size. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis 3 months ago, and read reviews about these shoes, and they have not disappointed me. I was unable to hike due to my PF pain and the combination of these shoes and superfeet orthotics, I can now hike with greatly reduced pain. These shoes have increased the quality of my daily living. I still have pain but not nearly as bad, I can definitely tell the difference between these shoes and when i don't wear them.
Cons: After 2 months of wearing them, I had a piece of tread start to come loose, which is unacceptable. However, Keen has amazing customer service and promptly shipped me a replacement pair. I would have no issues ordering these again or any other keen footwear.
