  • Fits like a glove, but lens won't fit in Canon case with LensCoat on the hood
By prism on 16 March 2016

Fits like a glove on the Canon 400 2.8. Note that you'll need a little hex wrench to remove the tripod handle/connector to put all the parts on and that is NOT provided by Canon. As soon as I finished wrangling with getting the LensCoat on, a staffer then informed me they were allergic to neoprene--so something to consider. Finally, the lens with the LensCoat will not fit in the Canon lens hard case that it comes with once it's suited up. So I had to remove the hood cover to get it back in the case, and will have to put the hood cover back on when it's time to use it.

  • Use gaffers tape to supplement pritecrion
    By Paul K on 20 December 2013

Good but adhesive strip comes off too easily and unfortunately I have remove it from the lens hood for the case to close on my 400 2.8 is II. I use gaffers tape to cover some exposed slits. Does protect the lens. I'll uses gaffers tape to replace their adhesive strip that goes on the tripod collar.

  • Does the job
    By L. Lawson on 12 December 2008

This lens coat does the job and looks attractive, I just think it is overpriced for what it is. Mine was cut a bit crooked , but my lens is protected and that is what I got it for!
