Unlike most reviewers, I *did* want these to be made of plastic because I wanted to use them to make a small picket fence around the edge of a diorama pot, so I wanted plastic since it wouldn't rot and break like real wood does. However, the product I received looked nothing like the picture on this site. Rather than a dark brown woody appearance, they were simply a light tan or beige color with no "woodgrain" visible whatsoever, other than some tiny ridges in the plastic. Since other reviewers complained that this made them difficult to write on, I decided to return them since I couldn't even use them to label my plants. I'm uploading a picture of the product I received so you can see how different it is from the advertised photo.

  • Good quality
    By Dorothy D on 24 April 2013

These are strong and so far, haven't broken in my garden. I've tried three types so far: sturdy white, flimsy green, and now these. The white ones gave my newly planted iris patch more the appearance of a garden of white labels. The green color is best, but I can only find flimsy ones, which often break within a few weeks of being set out. These light tan ones are sturdy, don't break, and visually blend with the soil and surrounding vegetation.

  • Fine, but not what I was expecting
    By S. Hamilton on 26 May 2012

I'm sure it's my fault for misunderstanding the description of these labels, and not reading the other review. But I was expecting them to be made out of wood, not plastic. (It's clear on the packaging, but for whatever reason wasn't when I was viewing on Amazon).

In any case, as the other reviewer said they are fine for what they are, and I've put them to use in my garden. They look nice. I agree about the texture, though - looks nice, but not as easy to write on (I used a sharpie).

  • Better than discount-store markers!
By Audria on 23 February 2013

Frankly I was a little confused at the "clip" part of the product title but I suppose that's just the brand as there is no "clip" to them. No matter - these are just plant stake-type markers about the size and shape they stick in your plants at the nursery, but much thicker, sturdier, and better looking. They are also easy to write on. I'm not disappointed at all.

  • Fine for what they are
By Madelene Caselli on 06 March 2012

As advertised. Only one issue. The Woodgrain applies not only to the color, but to the texture of the plastic label. I would rather have the smooth finish as it's easier to write on than the uneven "woodgrain" texture.

But, other than that, nice product. Would buy a smooth finish plant label next time though.
