  • Just had to try them
    By G Crafton on 24 October 2018

Ok, I’m a leftie who hurts their hand every time they write and these did not ease any discomfort. They were hard to write with the ink provided as is. But changes I would’ve made are.... First, they should’ve been quick dry gel so not to drag the hand through as we write. Second, they needed a softer grip cause I have a permanent dips/dents on either side of the knuckle my middle finger from gripping pens/pencils. I’ve known plenty that hold pens harder than right handed people.

  • Might benefit lefties who curve their wrist around.
    By Hank’s mom on 13 July 2019

As a lefty, I was super stoked to find these pens. The price is pretty steep for a pen, but most things marketed for lefties are, so I expected that. The pen writes well, but it is super weird to hold and does not provide me with any benefit over a normal, decent quality pen. I think it has a lot to do with the way I write. I’ve seen lefties hold their pen all sorts of ways to write, and my grip is very similar to the way a righty grips their pen. I don’t curve my hand around like some lefties do, and don’t clench the pen. I just hold it with the tips of my pointer and thumb, using my middle finger for stability. So though it doesn’t benefit me, it might benefit lefties who hold their pens differently. I’m still really happy that this pen exists, because we all know how frustrating it can be sometimes dealing with items that were designed for a righty. Hooray for lefties!

  • Not for me
By JP on 22 October 2014

I don't get it. I bought this because the reviews, overall, were good. To start with, I can't find a comfortable way to hold these silly pens. Even once I manage to grip them, only one of the 3 writes consistently without skipping and having to be primed. I'm still getting smudges on my hand, so it's not helping in that sense, either. I guarantee my hand writing is not one bit more legible with the lefty pen than it is with the Wexford pen I normally use, and the Wexford has a much nicer grip. I'll see what my left handed son or some of my left handed co-workers think. However, right now, I'm with that other old dog who can't learn new tricks. If you learned to write upside down in a right hander's world, don't bother. If you learned to write as a lefty should have learned, maybe.
This is an update after I shared these pens with one of my left handed co-workers. His opinion was almost identical to mine, and he's a good 20 years younger than me. I guess it's not just us old dogs that don't like thse pens. This is a 2nd update. I shared these pens with each let hander in my office. That's 4 of us. Not one of us liked them. Our ages varied from 30-56. We didn't find them comfortable to hold and all of us felt the ink quality was extremely poor.

  • Daughter loves them
    By Molly M on 09 February 2019

As I write this, I realize I’ve bought way too much stuff for my daughter on Amazon.

However she’s a lefty and loves these pens. She made fun of me for getting them at first. “Mom a pen is round - there’s no such thing as left or right handed pens”. Fast forward a couple weeks and she is exclaimed they’re her favorite pens and she uses them for schoolwork/homework constantly. I definitely reminded her of her previous words. Several months later and they’re still her favorite pens. Would definitely purchase again.

  • Love them, but could use some changes
By Jaden on 03 May 2017

Simply put, I love these pens! I have spent the last month making every lefty I meet try them. So far they all react with, "oh my gosh! This is great! I can see what I'm writing!" From the moment I began using them my penmanship improved. I'm actually a truly ambidextrous person, but have been using my left hand for writing more since hand surgery last fall.
I'm going to purchase these for my left handed family members, of which there are a lot, for birthdays and holidays!
I gave them 4/5 stars because I wish you could buy larger packs, packs of all blue, and more colours (fun colours like pink, purple, orange, green, etc.), I also wish they had the "clip" on them so you could clip it to your notebook or pocket, or shirt. I find myself constantly looking for a place to put it between writing so I don't lose it.
