  • like an E-width or better
By Steven Mckenna on 15 August 2016

Others on here have said that Nevados boots are big and that you should order half a size smaller. True if you have an average/medium foot or smaller. I Have been a fan of Nevados for 12 years now, and I have a wide foot. If you do too, like an E-width or better, then go for your nominal size because the Nevados is cut wide. That said, I've been using this brand for a long time, and they are by far the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever used. Even compared to name brand stuff that ranges into the $150-$200 atmosphere. Nevados, for me, is the best thing going. I have never had a hot spot, let along a blister, with these boots. And with desert hiking on mostly rock and gravel, I get about 2-3 years out of a pair before the tread gets worn down. The comfort factor is important, and Nevados does the trick.

  • Hollow soles, bad design, stinks!
By Valkyrie Rider on 19 February 2018

Well I like the boot, however the clogs on the soles are hollow so that any ware on the soles will cause the clogs to be hollow and allow moisture into the boot. I have purchased two sets of these and they did the same thing, after about 6 months there were holes all over the soles and your feet got wet! And when the boot got wet inside it really stunk!! I finally had to throw them away even though the tops were in perfect condition. I will not buy another pair of these.

  • Great value
By Hefeman on 25 March 2016

I've been wearing this shoe for many years. Probably on my 5th or 6th pair. Saw all the poor reviews and thought I would weigh in. I've experienced some of the issues mentioned in other reviews but only after wearing the shoes for 1-2 years. Given the price, that's an acceptable trade-off for me. I work in an office so not like I'm pounding the pavement every day. I have a narrow foot, size 11B. The medium width works well. No heel slippage. Have had occasional arch pain as shoes got worn but a cheap insert got me back on my feet. If possible, I'd buy these locally as the fit can vary. My local store stopped carrying them so had to buy last 2 pairs online. Happy to report both pairs fit well. Probably not the best shoe for hardcore hiking but great as everyday footwear.

  • Great price and quality, about 1/2 size to large
By Dave on 13 March 2015

Fit a little big, had to add gel inserts. That fixed the size issue. Already took them for a trial run on a 8 mile hike up and down trails, rocks, cross over streams (not in) and climb up side of waterfalls. Love them! My wife has the womans version and she loves them too!

  • Awesome budget hikers! Replace insoles and you got a great shoe!
By Penny on 03 January 2017

These shoes are awesome for the price! I've take out the cheapo paper-thin insoles that came w/ it and inserted drscholls active insoles w/ odor control, the blue one that looks like webbing and has all the cutouts for 9 bucks. Best combo ever! I can use them all day long and walk miles w/o sore feet. Seems to be holding up so far. No broken laces or eyelets. They are a tad on the heavier side, but that tells me they'll last a bit longer. For teh price, you can't go wrong! The toe box area is roomy also so no cramped toes or blisters while hiking.
