  • Its O.K. but kind of wonky
By Lazerbeam on 23 March 2018

This is not a bad sink drain but the magnetic stopper mechanism is kind of wonky. Sometimes it seals the basin and sometime it has to be pushed down by hand a fraction of an inch to make the seal. Another issue is when you want to drain the sink, you never know exactly how high the stopper will rise (and thus how quickly it will drain). I purchased six of these to redo the all my bathroom sinks. One of things I learned is, remove the blue vinyl protective film that is over the chrome before installing the drain. On the very first one I put in, I left the film on so I wouldn't mar or scratch the chrome. The film on the stopper comes off fairly easy, but the film over the drain part is rolled under the its lip. Once the drain pipe is tightened down it is extremely difficult to remove the protective film and you'll likely end up with small pieces showing around the edge unless you loosen the drain pipe then remove the film.

  • No plumbers putty needed. Parts fit together well to provide a leak free installation.
By NevadaTerry on 10 April 2017

This was a replacement drain for one in which the company had gone out of business. The drain body and top of the stopper are made from plastic of some sort. The ball rod has a magnetic tip and barely protrudes into the drain body. Installation is straight forward. The lower gasket on the drain body seals the assembly against the sink giving a leak proof fit. The overflow port matched well with my sinks. I used my existing lift rod and rod extension. I only had to make minor adjustments to the lift rods to get the stopper adjusted. The oil rubbed bronze finish of the stopper is not an exact match to my existing faucets but is about as close as one can get without using an OEM part. Waterworks packaging does not reference any warranty on the assembly. This brings to mind the question of durability of the ball rod. Will the tip of the ball rod corrode to the point where the magnetic field will no longer lift the stopper? I certainly hope not.

  • drain pipe is good ... popup is horrible
    By matrix058 on 07 March 2019

The drain pipe is well constructed and fit perfectly, all gaskets and locknuts work great. Then there was that wonky magnetic popup stopper. Just a horrible design! the stopper has a magnet and one side of the stem has ridges so the popup leaver catches and works with the magnet to raise and lower.... only problem is if you pull the stopper out (it is designed so you can pull it out of the drain to remove hair and clogs) you have to drop it back in with the correct orientation or it will bypass the drain leaver and drop all the way in...then the leaver will not work to pop the stopper out again! ... you have to use a small flat blade screw driver. How rediculas is that! Common PF... use a better design!!!!

  • Won't work without modification on thin sinks.
    By John L. on 10 November 2018

I work on a lot of mobile homes and many of them have cheap sinks that don't have overflow's. I am sure that I ordered on Amazon before and whatever I used worked well but this one didn't. The sink I worked on today was about 1/8" thick at the bottom and the design of this wouldn't tighten enough to not leak. I had to fashion a spacer to push up on the rubber seal to get it to work.

  • Stopper doesn't seal
By David C. Ross on 03 February 2019

The unit arrived quickly. It was easy to install correctly. The stopper is free to move. The rod doesn't have a positive attachment to the stopper. Therefore, the stopper moves up and allows drainage, but it does not seal correctly. The operator has to press down on the stopper in order to get a good seal and to prevent leakage. The plunger movement in relation to the stopper movement varies. When the plunger is pressed completely down, the stopper movement varies between 1 inch upwards movement and 1/2 inch movement. Works to get water out of drain but is not a good overall system.
