The Pilot Namiki Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink Bottle. Introducing Iroshizuku bottled ink for Namiki and Pilot fountain pens. The name "Iroshizuku" is a combination of the Japanese words "Iro (Coloring)," expressing high standards and variation of colors, and "Shizuku (Droplet)," that embodies the very image of dripping water. Each Iroshizuku bottled ink name derives from the expressions of beautiful Japanese natural landscapes and plants, all of which contribute to the depth of each individual color.

  • Worth it
    By A. Galt on 21 December 2018

I balked at buying this (Kon-Peki) at $25, so when it went down to $16 I jumped at it. I'm a fountain pen neophyte, but I have to say, this ink has me making up reasons to write with it. I just enjoy it. It has a presence that other inks I've used haven't had. It keeps on making me smile. I have a thing about only using blue ink during Republican administrations as a quiet (inaudible) form of protest, but at this rate, it's hard to imagine going back to black in 2020.

UPDATE: The neighbor kid who watched our cat while we were away stole it. Evidently the bottle was irresistibly tantalizing to the pre-teen, North American male. I slyly asked his mother whether she'd noticed it, hoping that she would catch my drift and investigate without forcing me to openly accuse her son of theft. But she didn't. So, rather than endure that moment of awkwardness, I've ordered a second bottle... which happens to be irresistibly tantalizing to this forty-something, North American male. The boy won't be watching the cat again. And he better stay off my lawn.

  • I love chiku-rin! This is my second 50 ml bottle ...
By alexanderqi on 14 October 2015

I love chiku-rin! This is my second 50 ml bottle of pilot iroshiziku ink. The color is awesome and vibrant, the ink bottle is elegant. I've attached photos so you can see for yourself!
Before purchasing this bottle, I tried the 5 ml sample and love the color so much. Now after I got this large bottle, I even use it for my calculus homework :)

  • This is my blue ink of choice. Have used a half bottle already in less than 6 months.
By Chris Hoesel on 25 November 2015

I've normally thought blue inks to be boring, and for several years used only blue/black inks, many of them Iron-Gall based. Did not like how IG inks would dry up quickly in the pens, and required extensive flushing on a regular basis. I saw a pen review online and the reviewer mentioned this ink as being in the pen at the time. I liked the deeply-saturated look of the ink, and how it popped off the pages. I ordered a bottle and inked up my driest pen; a MB 146 with EF nib. Boy was I impressed. Not only the color, but the performance. All of a sudden my once-dry, hard starting pen became a juicy pleasure to hold in my hand. Yes, pun fully intended. Not much I can say, since I am inept at describing colors, but picture the sapphire-blue Croatian waters of the Adriatic, and that's the color. Not water resistant or archival in any form, but is not advertised as such. The blue color is truly spectacular. Give it a shot. Oh, and the Iroshizuku bottles are beautiful.

  • Gateway drug, no doubt about it.
By sfwriter on 02 October 2016

I gotta say, I usually go for more conservative-looking inks, but I love this bright, deep purply magenta in a wet writer. It's gorgeous and luxurious. It even looks great in my fine Metropolitan. With a very dry nib, though, it can fade out to a much more pinkish bright magenta, still not a terrible colour. And to my surprise, when it goes down really wet or is getting a bit dry in the pen, it has an amazing amount of golden sheen. I promised myself not to get into buying Iroshizuku inks, but I'm afraid I feel a need for a few more coming on ...
