  • A 'hot' costume that's not for claustrophobic people
By ahlxxxii on 30 October 2017

It's pretty narrow and confining - not a good costume if you are claustrophobic. It gets warm if worn more than 15-20 mins. But I have no problem moving in it and I'm not slim (36' waist). Plenty of room for a small prop too - I'll have a small digital recorder inside the costume playing the theme music from Jaws.

The color is more of a mousy brownish gray than the almost white color in the photo. In fact all of the colors are on the dull side. Wish they were as bright and snappy as in the photo but it will do. The teeth on mine don't want to hold the correct shape due to how it was folded (very tightly) in the package. The zipper is at the bottom of the right side and a bit difficult to see when you're inside the costume; it's best to have an assistant help you into it but it's possible to do it alone - a full-length mirror is really helpful if you do. Also longer than you might expect - I'm 5'-6" and it goes well past my knees, almost to the ankles.

Also as of 2017 the photo is accurate - some older reviews mention that the face opening is not as pictured. What I got is as pictured - a red colored mesh/net covering shaped something like an eye. People can't see your face, just your eyes. Also, your vision is restricted while wearing this - you aren't going to drive a car, but you should be fine indoors in familiar surroundings (home, office, etc.). Walking around a city at night, not so sure, but I guess people have done that too - use your judgement and stay safe.

By Russell Fox on 19 February 2018

It is what it is, foam costume. I'm 5'5 190 pounds, I have to pull the costume over my shoulders to see, the fins need to be stuffed because they're hollow. A few additions inside and it's decent.

    By g24 on 02 December 2015

My work always has little contests for Halloween including a costume contest, I didn't put any effort in last year and I'm a huge ocean fan so I went with the shark. I didn't win the contest because there are a couple people who make awesome costumes for themselves but it got a lot of attention, and when I went out that night to downtown seattle it was a ridiculously popular costume with everyone...too popular even

  • Okay for a one or two time use.
    By 1HipFlip on 27 October 2016

Got this for my 16-year-old son. Fun costume, but since there is no opening for the face, you can't eat without pulling your arms inside and it gets hot after a while. It's longer and taller than it shows in the photo. The head and fins don't stay up without stuffing ithem with tissue paper or newspapers. You have to be thin to wear this. There's a short zipper at the back/bottom, but it doesn't have much give if you're not thin.

  • A bit tight, very warm, no mouth opening
By Amazon Customer on 11 October 2018

The fit is a bit tight for a man, and if it's for an indoor party you will probably get really hot wearing it. Also, there is only a screen for the eyes, so you can't drink or eat anything unless you remove the costume or make a hole somewhere for that purpose. On the upside, it is a scary looking shark.
