  • Love these!
By Nona on 06 November 2016

I received 2 pack of Sakura Clear Glaze pens. I love these for coloring. It enables me to put a glossy effect on things such as bubbles and water drops for a more realistic effect.
These pens have excellent ink flow. The Glaze goes on very smoothly. I'm anxious to do more with them.

  • I love Sakura gel pens & was excited to try these
By Me on 26 July 2017

Hmmm..., I love Sakura gel pens & was excited to try these, mainly in coloring books right now.

I tried these glaze pens (in clear) over wax based colored pencils, alcohol markers, gel pens & on their own. Instead of making a dimensional line, the ink just kinda soaked into the paper, leaving a slightly shiny snail-trail -looking line of film (like very thinned out Elmer's glue). I think regular Elmer's glue would actually have worked better (not trying to be snarky, but honest). Maybe I received a bad batch?

Anyhow, I opened a return request with the seller & they responded immediately, giving me a full refund without needing to hassle with return. That was very cool of them & I showed my appreciation in the seller feedback!

Since I still have the pens, I will do some experimenting, perhaps they'll be just right for some other technique... : )

  • Does 3D mean 3x longer to dry?
    By ♥♡ღ❀✿❁❄❉❋❃★☆✯ on 09 March 2019

Sakura is a wondergul brand ans a leader in art products but I had issues with these pens. Apart for being fairly expensive, there is something off with the design of the pens. Ink comes out like a goop which in a sense its dimension and therefore takes much longer to dry--the kind of thing I would suggest using a blow dryer for and definitely keeping away from anything as when testing them, I accidentally put my forearm over the paper to be oh so pleasantly surprised that the ink had not dried yet and got to experience the feeling of paint-llike ink on my body. Not something I recommend to try.

I see drying time an issue both when wanting to go in around area you just drew as well as when wanting to go in over the wet area to thicken lines or deepen colors. I question how long one needs to wait before being able to go near a previously wet area...there are just too many issues to consider and since this is essentially paint, I would find a DIY version of a paint pen to be easier; even getting thrifty with a combination of paint and ink I feel would be less of a hassle.

  • Love Love Love but...
By Dangergirl on 22 September 2018

I LOVE these pens! They are my favorite embellishment tool. That said, Why, Oh Why could they not make this color choice (lack of color in this case) more distinguishable from the other "White" varieties they make? I love Sakura, I really do, but this is a problem I'd like them to fix. This is a clear gel, which is what I wanted, however, the first one I ordered was a gloss milky white and I had to cancel my order and re-order this one. I made a mistake I knew was possible and was able to catch it before my order was paid for but until Sakura fixes this issue AMAZON should put a highlight banner on their listings that this is CLEAR ink not "white" and do the same with the other varieties of "white" just to avoid more billing issues if nothing else. In Hindsight, I should have kept the mistaken order and just added this to my order. I can never have too many Sakura Glaze pens!

  • Great pens, cost too much*
By Blue on 01 December 2016

I love Glaze pens. The only problem is the black ink runs out very fast. It's too expensive to keep purchasing it. I need to find another way to mark on my glass. What's also happens is the other colors dry up and won't work if they are not used within 6 months. I've tried every trick there is to have them work again. Makes me sad to throw away money. I do love this product, but its too much money for the little bit I got*
Since this review i have purchased these pens numerous times. They are the only ones on the market that are able to give the look that the glaze pens do. If there is another product at a lower price same quality let me know.
Nothing has improved with the new order. They are smaller in size and have about 10% less ink. I have been using them up so fast they haven't had a chance to dry up.
