Dive Deeper Into Life with this Seiko Prospex Automatic Diver. The SRPC07 offers professional specifications for those with a strong sense of adventure. This Seiko Automatic watch is a mechanical watch with a self-winding mechanism. The self-winding mechanism winds the mainspring with the movement of the wearer's wrist. The energy to drive the watch is stored within the mainspring and this watch does not require a battery. All Seiko Automatic watches have an overwind protection mechanism to prevent damage to the mainspring once it is fully wound. Combining two legendary watch styles, this diver's watch features: --An angular stainless steel case and bracelet --Black and orange one-way rotating elapsed timing bezel --The iconic orange dial displays a date calendar with LumiBrite hands and markers --Automatic movement: allows for self and automatic winding capabilities --Power reserve of approximately 41 hours --Diver's 200m Water Resistant

  • Not an Orange Monster, but maybe better! More Grown up!
By Rex on 13 June 2018

I really like this watch...more than expected. The angular form of the case always made me cautious of ordering and I felt deep regret after I opened the box and saw the sharp lines, but after putting it on the wrist...I felt complete (not really, but you get the idea). On the wrist, the sharp lines start to soften and it looks like a nice and clean grown up watch with a small twist. The color takes the snooty aspect out of that watch and makes it acceptable for the wild everyman! The orange of the face is flatter and softer than expected. It doesn't have a sheen and is not neon orange. It is not pastel, but is starting to lean in that direction. seriously, the color of this watch makes me happy. I like the monster hands and overall aesthetics of the watch. See attached photo for reference as to how it is softer of an orange than a monster. Also, the printing is smaller and more delicate than the monster for grown-up situations.

Small downside, the indices are not perfectly aligned with the chapter ring and the bezel is not dead on, but I can live with it.

No comment on the movement, I am not a movement guy and can't tell the difference when the watch is running. Also, I have not worn the bracelet, I wanted to immediately wear it, so I threw it on a BluShark nato and it remains there.

Long story, early in 2017, I wanted a nicer watch to wear for the rare business casual days for work and my G-shock did not fit the bill. I found the orange monster (which I almost bought back in 2008 and found again in 2017) and could not live without it. I understand that the monster is not a "dress watch" but I was tumbling down the rabbit hole headfirst. however, I was one year too late. The normally $200 watch was $500 plus! I got in on a halloween orange monster for $225 (now is $500+), but it did not complete the mission. It was not a real "orange monster." Then I went down the slippery slope of cheaper automatic divers (skx009, orient ray II, Phoibos wavemaster, seiko orange mohawk [on order]) and they did not solve the problem...but I think this watch is nicer and more versatile than the Orange Monster. It looks more grown-up and serious but that orange helps me stay grounded and "keeps it real."

so if you wanted an orange monster, maybe this is something for you to fill that void in your life...also, when the price was hovering around $300...I couldn't say no.

And don't let people scare you about the "pin and collar" system in the band. You still push the pin out like normal, but there is a small collar in the center part of the link. Just make sure you put the small collar back in the same hole in the center part of the link before re-inserting the pin. I do not know why people make it sound more difficult than it is.

  • updated review. my fault with first bad review.
    By b. payne on 29 November 2018

i dissed this watch because it did not keep time right out of the box. i thought it was a bad battery...but it has an automatic self-wind movement to power it up. and i returned them. my ignorance. i have now viewed about two hours of youtube seiko and citizen watch reviews and have ordered a seiko padi sne499 solar dive watch. might get a citizen also. thanks for the comments to my bad review.... that brought me up to speed for my error. to seiko: my apologies.

  • Not bad for <$300
    By Adam F. on 30 October 2018

Better than expected. Can’t describe how great the orange is. Has to be seen. I added the orange NATO strap to really set it off. Second hand sweep is very smooth. The luminous hands are very bright in the dark. It’s a large watch, not going to lie, but if you have the arm/wrist for it then the watch has great presence.

I have a collection of Tag Heuer watches at each cost >$1,000, and this is now steady in rotation. Great value.

  • Nice looking watch!
By Albert on 06 May 2018

Nice looking watch! The movement does pretty good job keeping time. The reason I can’t give 5 stars is the details, hour markers that do not align properly with the markers on the chapter ring. Same issue with the vessel, doesn’t seem to align perfectly at 12 o’clock. An entry level swiss watch beats this Seiko on that matter. The seller Outdoor Sports Equipment provided good service and delivery.
Update: Not all stainless steel is made equal and, with that said, the steel of this watch seems cheap, scratches easily, and the aluminum insert on bezel is easily damaged.

  • Absolutely love this watch!
By sweet thing on 30 June 2019

Orange, really? That was my reaction to this model... the black face looked so mundane and everyday, but the orange face had pop! The price was low so I lulled the trigger. When it arrived, holy poop mu pants! It wa amazing in every way. Hefty and sold, great build, the Seiko chapter marker malalignments that plague the SKX series was non-existent, the oyster band links were very easy to adjust. When I put it on my 7" wrist, I was concerned it would be too big. Alas, it was not, and it wears quite well. The orange is not obnoxious and when I took it under water it was VERY EASY to read. I have no complaints... love the three year warranty but I took out the Asurian policy for 4 years just to be safe. Well done Seiko, well done!
