This auto focus circular fisheye lens has an angle of view of 180 degrees in all directions. It is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras with the APS-C size image sensor. When used in conjunction with digital SLRs with APS-C size image sensors, it produces circular image within the frame. The F2.8 large aperture value produces a bright image in the viewfinder and allows photographers to take pictures in low light conditions, making it an ideal lens for Astrophotography and Aurora photography. Due to the quantifiable angle/area relationship it produces, this lens can be used for scientific and arts applications such as solid angle measurements of cloud distribution over the sky or vegetation distribution of the forest. The minimum focusing distance of 13.5cm/5.3inch and maximum magnification of 1:6 make it particularly useful for close-up photography. SLD??Special Low Dispersion??glass provides effective compensation of chromatic aberration. Sigma??s Super Multi-Layer Coating minimizes flare and ghosting. It is equipped with an inner focusing system that creates high definition and good image quality over the whole frame. The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures fast and quiet autofocusing and allows full-time manual focus override by rotation of the focus ring..

  • Really nice lens, gives a different perspective to photography
By Osiris A. Rosa on 23 August 2018

I love the lens and the amount of scenery it can take in, super fast auto focus and lots of detail and color rendition. There is very slight chromatic aberration on the edges however this is to be expected since is so the image is so distorted. It takes a while to setup a great shot, and sometimes it is challenging. A fun lens to have and to take pictures with when you want to get a very different perspective of the world we live in, Did I mention that is build like a tank.

  • Would not focus
By Ed Thompson on 22 September 2018

The perspective of this lens was perfect. But, not matter what I could not get the images to be in focus. I went as far as shooting at f18, iso 100 on a tripod in daylight and still could not get a shot with any of the image having a sharp focus. If this lens had a sharp focus I'd have given it 5 stars.

  • Sigma's 4.5mm f2.8 is weird and wonderful, as a fish-eye should be.
By Jon D Rolfson on 24 September 2017

It's weird and wonderful, as a fish-eye should be. This is a solid lens offering from Sigma. In spite of the enormous depth-of-field that is inherently available in such a lens, auto-focusing is a useful thing.

  • Very good fisheye, a bit pricey.
By evaxebra on 04 August 2013

I picked this one out for my Sony Alpha 77 from all the other options, because this one has autofocus. I take a lot of self portraits and I needed autofocus for that purpose. It is exactly what I expected, works well in low light, sufficiently sharp, and fun to use. I just think that price tag is a bit high, when you can get a manual focus one for $250.

    By M. Olson on 11 April 2018

Fantastic lens. One of the best fisheyes I've owned and some of my others have been far more expensive.
