  • Sometimes The Simplest Solution Is Right In Front Of Us
By Scott E. High on 17 December 2017

I have worn Spenco Yumi sandals ever since my second left ankle osteotomy. When my wife started complaining about the tops of both feet hurting constantly I surmised that because of her scoliosis that her gait had changed and that she needed better support for her feet. She, like me, had the bad habit of walking around our home either barefoot or with cloth footies for comfort. Just to be clear, I didn't wear the footies but since we live in Southwest Florida where it is pretty warm all year around, I was often barefoot both inside and outdoors.

So I talked to her about the Spenco Yumi for women. She had seen the benefits to me of wearing them constantly instead of running around barefoot and was willing to give it a shot. When the sandals arrived and she put them on for the first time she got a surprised look on her face. When I asked her why she was giving me the look she replied that she was surprised how comfortable they were. She thought that perhaps the size I got her was slightly too small but agreed to walk around in them for a few days just to test them out. The next thing I knew she was wearing them while shopping and running errands. Surprise! No more foot pain. These sandals were the perfect solution for her problem. They might also be beneficial to you.

  • Inferior to Vionics
    By M. Williams on 10 April 2019

I wear Spenco mules so I gave the flops a shot. They do not offer nearly enough support. I have super high arches, plantar fasciitis, and heel pain. I felt very compelled to write a review. The photos compare a Vionic Tide which I've worn for over a year to the new Red Spenco. The Spenco has a deeper heal cup but not enough padding. The Vionic has a much wider arch support and a solid flat shoe bottom where as the Spenco has immediate arch support but as you walk, the base is compressed and causes my foot to fall inward. The ball of the foot pad in the Spenco is nice but not necessarily needed for me. I will be returning these and only buying Vionic for flip flops.

  • Comfy and good quality; toe piece is a bit uncomfortable
    By Shannon H. on 26 May 2017

Really comfortable, supportive and with a good stable bottom. Very well made. The material between the toes is a bit rough but will hopefully get more worn in with time. Otherwise, awesome arch support and much comfier than typical flip flops!

Update: I wore these a bit more over the weekend and the toe area got really uncomfortable. The material is very stiff and I am going to have to wrap something around it to avoid blisters. The entire top piece is a bit stiff and feels a little too tight on the top of my foot (and I have narrow, skinny feet). Hoping that as they get broken in more (if I can stand to keep wearing them until then) that will change. Still in love with the supportive base of these flip flops, but they could definitely do more to make the top part more comfortable.

  • Spenco sizing has changed
By cdm on 25 May 2018

had to return, they seem to have cut the size and width just a little. I have bought this size before and actually am a Spenco "regular" because they are comfortable but these are still too narrow even in wide widths. I was able to find some in stock locally that had been on the shelf awhile, same size only they fit, so it's a change in the way they are made. Too bad because Spenco has been a go to for me for a few years but with my regular size not fitting, I don't want to go to the next size up, they are just too long!

  • Not durable. Cheap plastic bottoms are slippery
    By Bgirl1400 on 05 December 2017

I've worn these for one month, not everyday though. The heels are already sunken in to the point that it provides poor arch support. These wore out too quickly. More dangerously, the bottom of the sandals feel like a cheap hard plastic and not rubberized. They are extremely slippery on slick surfaces. I can't even wear these on the linoleum floor in our kitchen. I fell and slid all over that floor with these on. Spenco shoes are too expensive to be so cheaply made
