  • Strong Chemical Odor After Washing
By Amazon Customer on 15 August 2014

These sheets felt fine out of the package, a little stiff as expected for new material, and a strange smell, but with a decent thickness and quality feel. I washed them in cold water with Seventh Generation detergent, which I use for everything. When the wash cycle finished, the sheets had a very strong chemical odor, similar to turpentine. Getting wet increased the odor ten fold. I tried washing them again with white vinegar, and the smell remained. I washed them a third time with an extra rinse and fabric softener, and then put them in the dryer on low. They came out very rough and still smelling, although not as strong as when wet. I am going to air them out on the clothesline, wash one more time, and if that doesn't work, I will return them. I cannot imagine subjecting my house guests to a bed that smells of strong chemicals.

  • Egyptian cotton not all that
    By W. B. Ray on 17 August 2013

I owned a waterbed store for 10 years and I've owned a waterbed for over 40 years. All I've ever heard for the last so many years is raving about egyptian cotton. So I purchased these thinking okay this will be good. Well they aren't.all that. First the description didn't say that it required poles for the corners, which to me, if you have a properly cut sheet set, the pockets they put on the sheets are plenty to hold the sheets on. Luckily this sheet set does have big pockets that also have pole option sleeves. So score one for the sheet set. The sheet set is sufficiently cut to fit after washing. So score two for the sheet set. But the sheet set has a terrrible finish; it does not have a smooth finish (minus one) and it is so rough to the touch, that you literally have to sit/lift up to turn over in bed otherwise you literally drag the sheet with you making the sheet gather (minus another one). Additionally when you wash and dry the sheets, they wrinkle something fierce. Waterbed sheets being the size they are and with the top sheet and bottom sheet attached make for a lengthy piece of material that utilmately will twist in wash and drying. So you don't want something that looks like it was run over and over and over then pressed flat all while it was twisted and gathered up. You cannot keep these sheets from having this degree of wrinkle. So minus another one. All in all I was sorely disappointed in these sheets. I've got one set of muslin sheets that I bought back in the eightys and even new after one wash they were never this "rough" feeling. I would not recommend these and would advise that you look to get a good percale set of sheets. Good sheets shouldn't be cheap because really good sheets will literally last for years as long as you rotate and don't use them over and over and over. I've got percale sheet sets that have less than a 300 thread count and they are unbelievable nice being 30 to 40 years old. I'd like to return these if I could but I know no one is going to really care about my satisfaction - It's just a lesson learned.

  • Not bad, but not as soft
By PenHam on 23 November 2015

Not bad, but not as soft, or well made, as the 300 thread-count Organic Cotton sheet set sold by Target under the "Theshold" name, (Indian cotton).

By the way, don't be fooled by claims of higher than 300 thread counts. It's too much to go into, but anything over 300 is marketing speak for stranding multiple threads to form a single thread, which they then count as 2,3,4 or 5 threads in their count, depending on how many they used. In other words, those 1500 thread-count sheets you were looking at, won't have the softness—over time—of a properly made 260-300 tc sheet. Also, don't be fooled by the "Egyptian" cotton naming. Nearly all cotton coming out of Africa or the Middle East these day is called "Egyptian" cotton.

  • ...the worst sheets I've ever owned.
By Past time on 28 January 2016

Without a doubt, these are the worst sheets I've ever owned. They're thin and flimsy and they have a bad chemical odor that won't wash out. They fell like a cross between an old t-shirt and an old pair of panty hose. I can't believe how many positive reviews they have. It must be from people who have never slept on good sheets or from people who was paid to leave a good review. Anyway, I absolutely hate them!!!

  • Split king sheets in a deep purple
    By Jan M on 22 July 2019

These sheets fit perfectly, even the top king sheet seems to be a little wider on the sides so you have more overlap, which I love, not sure why, but seems to be a bit more than other split king sheets. The only sad part is that it is only 300 thread count and not quite as soft as other sheets I have that are 500 and up thread count, but I will continue using them, as they do fit very well and wash up nicely...
