  • A picture is worth 1000 words. (20 Qt. pot)
By SeeMore on 18 August 2016

I decided to add photos with the measuring tape because I saw so many conflicting measurements for the 20qt. pot. The one Photo showing the bottom of the pot is exactly 11 inches across. That is the portion that will contact your heating element. The inside pot measurement photo shows it being exactly 10 1/4 inches deep. The outside top to bottom measurement is 10 1/2 inches tall (all photos taken without the lid).

  • I absolutely love these stock pots!
    By S.K. on 21 September 2016

Excellent, heavy duty pot. have two of these pots. I put these things through the the ultimate test by cooking 45 gallons of potato soup in 2 days. I had high heat from a propane camp stove on these pots for a good 2 hours, let them cool, washed them and put them on heat for another 2 hours. I did this 3 times each day. They performed beautifully. The thick bottom does an excellent job evenly distributing the heat and preventing burning. I had used cheaper pots to make this soup in the past and had to stir frequently to avoid sticking on the bottom. I also had to soak them to clean them. Not with these pots. I had 0 sticking and was stirring infrequently. Washing was a snap because nothing stuck to them. I also used these pots to can vegetables and they worked great. I highly recommend this stock pot. They are made in China, but they don't follow the stigma.

  • Great large non-reactive stockpot for the price
By Amazin' S. Hopper on 11 February 2017

This is a great stockpot for the price. I've only used it twice, so I can't comment on long-term durability, but the "finish" seems excellent and the pot & lid feel solidly constructed. I bought this pot for dyeing clothes and will probably use it for other non-food-related projects. Note that the packaging was very cheap, and there were some very small marks scattered across the bottom of the pot. Having read a lot of negative reviews of cheap made-in-China stockpots, I was worried this one (a bit more expensive but far from the priciest) would have problems. But the discolored spots scrubbed off easily, and I'm very pleased with the pot. The lid fits well, the shape is pretty tall & narrow so the pot fits stably on one burner of my ordinary US gas stove with only minor spillover, and best of all, it heats unusually fast. Like I said, I bought it for dyeing clothes: the chemicals involved are pretty nasty (at least for something you'd use in your kitchen), & the pot stays on the stove for a long time. I haven't observed any signs of reactivity. Since I didn't get this pot for cooking, I have no idea how it would work for e.g. cooking onions in butter, much less browning something, but if you'll only be cooking in liquid, this pot would likely be a good choice. Final comments: the handles are comfortable & seem sturdy; the lid is flat, making the whole thing easier to store; and the pot is light & easy to lift even when full, without seeming flimsy. Given what I'm using it for, if this pot were going to dent or deform readily, it likely would've already: instead, it's fine. If you're looking for a reasonably large pot for any use requiring a non-reactive material, I'd highly recommend this one. Just make sure to unpack & clean it right away, so if you're unlucky & your pot has been damaged in shipping or has some kind of defect, you're within the Amazon return window. Given the crummy packaging, I imagine either is possible.

  • Balanced heat distribution when cooking.
By Teagirl on 20 December 2017

I know this is going to sound silly but, this pot is so beautiful, I hesitated to use it as I just wanted to keep looking at it. It is pristine, solid and well made. It was packaged extremely well to prevent any damage to the surface of the pot.
I make a large pot of gumbo every Christmas Eve and many soups and stews throughout the year. This year, not only will the gumbo taste good but it will look good as well.
To break in the pot, I sautéed the trinity (onion, bell pepper and celery). The heavy bottom and even heating made quick work of the process.
Since we eat with our eyes first, no problem here.

  • More than expected
    By Dale B on 07 November 2017

Could not believe the quality of this pot given the price. Very thick, encapsulated bottom prevents burning and sides are much thicker than I expected as well. Quality product all around. I used this for beer making and was really pleased that there was no scorching on the bottom at all. Looking forward to using this for pots of soup this winter as well
