I have been wearung well made Wrangler jeans a long time. I like the stitched W on the back pockets and doubled stitched side seams. However, the description for the pair I ordered was that these were "relaxed fit". What I received were not "relaxed fit"...but regular fit.

  • These are the jeans you are looking for.
By BradGunnerSGT on 27 June 2017

Remember the jeans that you used to be able to buy at the store? The ones that would last for years? These are the ones that you are looking for.

I have bought jeans at the store for years, but over the last 10-15 years, the fabric has become much thinner and lighter in weight. I bought 3 pairs of jeans a couple of years ago where they all started wearing in the same place, the top right corner of the back left pocket. I didn't even keep anything in that pocket but they all wore out in the same spot after only 6 months.

These "rugged wear" version of the Wrangler jeans are the same ones that used to be the "normal" jeans. The fabric is the same thickness that all jeans used to be and the stitching is the heavy duty stitching that all jeans used to use.

  • Very good jeans at a good price
By SWA on 04 March 2017

I'm reluctant to buy clothes or shoes without direct, eyes-on, hands-on shopping. I've seen others order wearables online only to end up sending them back. However, when I saw Amazon having a one-day sale on Wrangler jeans at a time when I was interested in buying some, and for a good price, with no-hassle return if necessary, I decided to make an exception. I'm glad I did. The jeans arrived on time, were exactly as described and fit perfectly. The material of the "rugged wear" style does have a bit more body to it , as described. In my experience, less-expensive jeans get frayed pockets and worn-through knees much too soon. The sewing on these jeans looks good and everything lines up as it should. If they hold up as well as Wranglers usually do, they will have earned the five stars I'm assigning right after purchase.

  • 2 pairs lasted only 2 months.
By Ray Erc on 24 August 2017

I bought these for work. They fit and feel great. Last week in the morning I noticed a small hole on my knee. By the end of the day the small hole was not small, my entire knee was exposed, every time I bent down or squatted the hole just got bigger. Now I have a small hole just above my knee on the second pair. It was the size of a pencil tip this morning. Now it is the size of a 2 entire pencils and getting bigger. I have never seen this before. I was not at work today and just cleaning around the house. In both cases I don't know what even caused the hole. I have one pair left. I will see what happens. I have worn wrangler before and never had this problem. I got these because they stated rugged. I threw the first pair out because I could not wear them to work, I am saving the second pair, but as of now I cant wear them to work. Looks very unprofessional. I don't complain often but I am at a loose for these jeans crumbling.

  • where the new is noticeably worse than the old, and my guess is that it is not First Quality
    By NinoUpte7 on 23 May 2017

I purchased two. I am comparing them to a several years old Wrangler Men's Relaxed Fit Jean which I purchased a a local Target, a source which has now dried up for this product. My older pants were 42x30 and not "Rugged Wear".
    Con-Fit: new=too tight; old=roomy.
    Con-SeamQuality: new=poor; old=good.
Pros: Other than the cons, the old=new, (Except for pocket sewing, where the new is noticeably better than the old).
Personal remarks: I'm requesting (from Amazon) a return for these items. (Amazon provided return). I view them as: NOT relaxed fit; Poor seam quality, and an example of of reasons why clothes are better purchased in person where they can be tried on, rather than through the mail. Both the new and old were made in Mexico, but I don't think it really matters where they are made as far as quality goes, jobs are another matter. Product quality is ONLY achieved by the Company who owns the Brand Name and makes the final decisions as to Quality Assurance. It's clear to me that the Quality Assurance has been permitted to slide in the endless chase for profits.
Went to Wragler Website, got postage paid (for new customers) same order.
Quality Wrangler Website product is the same as my OLD, GOOD pair, therefore, THIS amazon source is (IN MY GUESTIMATE), NOT first quality and Not seconds (where there are a few minor defects), but more like third quality, where the seams/cut was a failure and the pants were sent to some jobber who had them "repaired" and sold through amazon.
With this comparison between the Current Wrangler Website product and these amazon sourced product, I have to WITHDRAW my supposition that the actual Genuine Wrangler product was lacking in quality control.
    I do have a question:
Why isn't the Wrangler Company monitoring and testing the "Wrangler" products sold on Amazon and shutting down these products?

Length: old "30"=30; new "32"=34 (but for me that's ok.)
"Relaxed Fit": Old rear= at 12" down from top, 14" wide (good). New rear= 12" wide (uncomfortably tight)
LegWidth: both at 19" down from top=13.5" across (good and roomy),
Inside front and back seams (from crotch to beltline: Old=all are folded under and are fully secured and strong. New: front and back seams are NOT folder under and therefore I judge them as not so secure and strong.
